VN - Ren'Py - Grandma's House [Part 6 v0.92] [Moonbox]

I feel like some parts of this game are severely underrated. The game opens up really well, in the sense that the introduction paints a very good picture of what you'll get in the game. Characters are introduced quickly and sex follows soon after, but I can't stress how good the writing is throughout the game. The game is not really trying to tell a particularly compelling story, and that's perfectly fine so long as the game knows it and doesn't try to force it, and that gets well handled in this one. Sadly I'm not much into the MILF kink, let alone going even further back in the family tree, but there are plenty enough characters to leave almost anyone satisfied, and all characters are optional(at least as far as I know), so if there's any you don't really like, you can just skip it. I will say I find the lack of bgm strange, but that's easy to fix, either by using the jukebox mod or by just playing whatever you feel like on your PC. The apparent focus on the more aged characters kept me away from this game for years, which means now that I've finally given it a try not only do I like it a lot, but there's also plenty of content to enjoy. Overall I think this game is very good, but as with everything, it depends on what you're looking for. As long as you don't expect a highly dramatic or overly complex plot, there's a high chance this game will be enjoyable at worst.

The Dev compensates their inability to write more or less interesting story or live believable characters with the ridiculous number of LIs of all colors and races and with elephantine MC's dick.
Basically the game is just a fuckfest of Gargantuan proportions with no developed relationships.

This game is all about SEX, SEX, little story, SEX, SEX, sleep, then repeat. It has an above average story, but if anyone is looking for a game were the MC having sex with anyone and everyone, this game is for you

This game is a fuckfest and has no illusions about it. The graphics are good but nothing incredible and there's no animations. The story is pretty much non existent, there is just a loose framing of days as the MC gradually works his way through fucking basically every woman in town.

Why five stars then? Because this game does it well, and the updates are large and frequent. Almost every two weeks you're going to get an update that is the size of what a lot of devs put out in six months (or longer). The cast is huge covering a wide variety of kinks, body types, and fetishes. MILFs, GILFs, teens, netori, family, lactation, interracial, threesomes, moresomes, maids, nuns, twins, pet play, watersports, etc etcc the list just goes one and on.

Its a harem game, and I love that. I don't have the time or energy to do 15 playthroughs of a game to see all the content. I want to see as much as possible in a single save file and thats totally possible here. The girls are all great epecially Elizabeth and Fiona, and the MCs surrogate mom Jamila.

And if your a fan of breeding, this game is all about it. So while the game might not be a 5 star game in the way something like "Eternum" is, its still a 5 star title to me.

This game is difficult to review and rate because it really depends on what you're looking for in a game.

Visually the game is good (but not great) and it features a wide variety of love interests. The writing and story are OK to below average. The main problem with the game is the author's inability to write and develop deep and meaningful relationships. All relationships are shallow. In order to keep things new and fresh, the author just throws new LI after new LI at the MC. They are all eager to try out the MC's elephant dick. The MC has nothing going for him and there's no reason for all these women to thirst after the MC. For these reasons sex scenes are plentiful but unrewarding. They don't feel earned and the game feels more like a sex simulator than a visual novel.

I've played close to one hundred games on this site and approximately 20% of the authors have this same problem. They don't know how to develop deep relationships with characters and keep things fresh and so their only choice/option is to throw new LI after new LI at the MC at hyperspeed.

Personally, I only found half of the LIs to be attractive. The author has a fetish for overweight MILFs with huge hips and huge asses. Even most of the thin/petite girls have large hips and large asses (making them look abnormal). If you love hags, overweight girls, and huge asses, you'll love this game!

There are lots of long winded conversations that aren't meaningful and don't go anywhere. You would think with all the long conversations that relationship building would be great but it isn't. Very few of the conversations in the game add to character development.

The MC's dick is so large that it would send most virgins to the hospital with severe vaginal tearing. The game is very low on realism and doesn't really make an attempt at it.

There aren't any animations and the sex scenes become repetitive quickly, just with a new face (LI/girl). The sex scenes are short overall and often lack passion. The MC fucks a lot of girls he barely met so the player has very little investment in these quick and easy lewd scenes.

Some of the LIs are forced on the player so it feels more linear than open world where you have lots of freedom of choice.

So it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want lots of meaningless sex with lots of sex dolls who thirst after the MC for no reason other than his elephant sized dick then this game will be perfect for you.

If you want a deep and meaningful story with good character development and good relationship building then you'll be gravely disappointed. If you want sex to be meaningful then look elsewhere.

The game is pretty much pure fantasy and isn't believable. If that ticks one of your boxes then go for it. The game does have a strong following and is one of the most popular games on this site so there is a market for this type of game apparently, it just isn't my cup of tea. I personally want a somewhat believable story with some fantasy thrown in. I prefer a smaller cast where I can develop deep and meaningful relationships with the LIs in the game.

I only made it half way through the game and gave up (not a good sign!).

Bruv this ain't even a fuckfest, this is straight up orgymaxxing Sodom and Homorra style fr. Main character be bussin his elephant-sized lil bro every 5 minutes into different female sex dolls like his life depends on it, which is clearly a reference to fan-favourite "Crank" starring Jason Statham. It just so happens that he is also literally a walking pussy magnet, since him simply being in close proximity with any straight female makes them jump him with unpure intent without a back thought.
Ah, yeah, I think there is even dialogue (probaply), and some narration (also theoretically possible). Never bothered to find out tho, since never let go of skip button. Aintnoway somebody actually reads this.

Good variety of kinks and different types of ladies, but (and I never thought I'd say that) there is also too much sex involved, mostly because you have like 30 or so different women in the game.
Now it'd probably not be feasible to reduce the amount of sex in a porn game, but it would help a lot if the scenes weren't so damn long all the time.

There's a surprising variety of kinks here, and the updates are frequent and sizable, but...there's also like 30 love interests -- so far? It seems like every single female character with at least one line of dialog eventually gets the opportunity for a good dicking. And I am sad to report that they are generally pretty dull to be around.

And as a rule, they open their legs for the MC without much resistance. So the sex scenes don't have much of a payoff. You just flatter these women until they can't wait to be conquered. Most of them seem to be just waiting around for a big strong male to rescue them. Maybe his absurd donkey dick has something to do with it? In line with this theory, and luckily for us, the few other dudes who show up are written as shitheads, cucks, or both.

There isn't much of a story either. While there are tons of conversations that go on quite a bit, they also don't actually do much to advance a plot or to deepen a relationship. The MC also has no profession and no responsibilities to take up the slack. He mainly just goes around collecting women like Pokemon cards. And they are all fine with being in a modern-day harem of an unemployed guy who lives with his grandmother and doesn't even leave the house most of the time. The pussy magnetism on display here strains credulity again and again, even by AVN standards. And the game doesn't quite have the charm to compensate. I feel like it's been spinning its wheels for quite some time.

I usually leave just positive reviews, but for the very popular games I'm going to make exceptions.
Grandma's House is great example of the game that might work for you if you have the same kinks as a creator (in case of this game harem of mostly big old ugly females of various ethnics) - there's a lid for every pot - but otherwise it's just poor. The very basics of visual storytelling which you might even not have to learn, but can be easily figured out, are ignored (eg. "You left the room" - Surprise surprise: I can see that staring at the picture of the staircase!), both dialogs and monologues are absolutely mundane, situations (hard for me to call t story) are not interesting, choices are alternating between obvious and facepalm inducing.
TL;DR It's just dumb.
Even for the porn game. At most average visuals cannot compensate that and besides sheer numbers of LIs (found few kinda attractive ones), there isn't anything exceptional or at least very good here.
This opinion is based on part 1 of the game that got boring to even skip through, so if there is sudden quality jump later on, I'll be glad to give it 3rd chance.

I like the game overall. It's right up my alley of genres I like. I like the models, especially the older/mature ones, THE MILFs. I feel like there is a tinge of comedy in some of the lines/content, in my opinion and I find them entertaining. Keep up the good work and I'll be waiting for your updates.

It is a fun game with many Love Interests, all of whom the main character corrupts or seduces.
The renders are decent, the story telling can be a bit repetitive at times, and the story doesn't have a lot of depth, but that can be expected from a harem-building game.
Overall an entertaining experience.

Overrated but not awful

This game as you can see from a lot of the reviews is very marmite... ppl either tend to 5 star or 1 star it. I sit somewhere in the middle.

Doesnt get a 5 star from me as a star is taken away straight away for the game not having any animations.

2nd star taken away as there is too many LIs in here, which means the "screen time" feels rushed with a lot of them. A fair few of the characters are also just plainly not interesting.

Lets move onto the positives tho....

* Renders are lovely.
* Multiple different body types to suit varied tastes.
--My personal fave characters are Amelia and Polly.
* Fair few fetishes explored.

Negatives:

* No animations
* Another horse cocked MC - why?
* Bloated text, you find yourself skipping a lot of dialog.
* Some uninteresting characters.

OVERALL
I am perservering with it even tho i do skip a lot of dialog, and the dev does push regular updates, there is a LOT of content.

It isnt the worst game on this site by any stretch, but it also does not deserve the amount of 5 star ratings it has on here either.

i tried to play this game 3 times, and still can't even make it thru part 1.

Seriously, the story is not there, there just some dialogs that has no seance, MC gets most of the girls jumping on him like he is a walking aphrodisiac with dick, there no explanation on girls behavior, feels like if you tell a girl anything nice, 5 minutes later she already sucks you off, even that it's a first time they've met.

half of the women models are practically UGLY, i mean might be we all have different beauty standards but really, look at those women, it's like a horror thriller.

the MC dicks in later AVN games beat records over and over, but be at least a beat realistic, you cannot take virginity of young asian girl with this dick, it'll send her in hospital, but since creator most likely never had experience, we can't really blame this stupidity on anyone except google.

Definitely one of the greats! Wide variety of ladies, and a lot of great story! The romance is really sweet and it's absolutely a feel-good game to play. Highly Recommend! Keep it up!

By now sex itself is pretty much irrelevant as it happens most of the time anyway and now involves multiple partners more often than not. I'd say it's the writing alone that keeps the interest as the humour and the relationships still make the story funny to read, but really, by now the game could be declared finished and nobody could complain as every update is just more of the same. In fact it could be a good idea to do so but I can see why Moonbox would rather keep adding more and more scenes instead of creating something new.

Grandma's House is the typical harem game with thousands of women falling for you as soon as they see you and an MC with a horse sized cock. It's mostly a kinetic novella with plenty of beautiful girls in all shapes, races and ages. By now Nana has become an icon as far as harem games are concerned but finally you can spend a whole night making love to her in 0.65.

There's plenty of joking around and large amounts of hugs. While renders are decent, animations are non existant but then this was always about humour and seduction rather than first class fap material. There are plenty of love stories here, though the one with Nana tops them all. I'd say she's the top #1 tease on the AVN scene but also one of the hottest and most desirable mature women ever in an adult game; she's a classy woman who deserves to be treated right and Moonbox delivers with some memorable scenes.

Edit: Rounding up from 4 to 5 stars for the 0.65 update.

Edit 2: Rounding down again to 4/5 because Moonbox can't be bothered to fix the game to load previous saves properly for 0.70. Undoing, apparently this was my fault.

First of all, the game isn't very exciting. The writing really isn't good. And the fact that most of the characters are pretty much forced on you, is a significant negative. All of the above make this a skip fest. The frequent updates can be thought of as a positive, though.

the games just overall boring and focuses on quantity over quality. this is one of those VN's that would greatly benefit from having a sandbox so that you can focus on the characters u care about rather than the countless bland ones that just get thrown at you

Played 'til v0.53 .. and thats it for me!

A really annoying linear story ... too many times forced into relations I'm REALLY not into ... no animations ... too many and most boring dialogues ... Sex scenes are nearly always the same ...

The only interesting thing for me would be whether and how the MC gets together with Amelia.
But unfortunately the rest of the game is so bad that I won't bother with it anymore...

I've been playing the game for the last few days and have had a great time. The completely crazy story about a guy who wants to flood an entire city with babies and many ladies of all ages who willingly assist him is so over the top that the humour is not neglected. Nevertheless, more serious topics are also addressed, but without the finger-wagging, which I really like.

There is also a bug in part 2, where the night with Mila is wrong when it first appears. It is only at the point of the second appearance that she is correct in the story. But I can get over that.

I've also liked the fact that some characters are going through developments and I'm more excited about Amy opening up than Nana.

Many of the character models in this game are also some of the prettiest I've seen in a game of this type.

So I give it 5 out of 5 bananas and look forward to the next update

This game is the perfect definition of blue-balls, teasing without any or little reward,

the game cover itself or the game art, everything is done to catch your attention, you see a beautiful LI that interests you (even though they barely have a complex personality) you find them attractive and wait for the moment to be with them, but after hours of gameplay or even an entire chapter, the player only spent a single scene with their favorite girl while the game kept pushing a bunch of milfs or older women, which in my case I don't find attractive.

With each li that I refuse, the game presents me with more, while I would be satisfied with a few that were shown at the beginning, if only the dev had built a deep personality for each li, with a deep story, with real relationships, with a story giving real reasons for each li to be interested in the mc.
But for me this game is nothing more than a provocation without reward, where the dev keeps throwing LI in the player's face until at least 1 gets his attention.

The graphics are good, the rendering is good, the girls are hot... but the player can't enjoy any of that…

Instead of enjoying a pleasant story, I'm going through embarrassing moments or senseless provocations or rejecting LI that I'm not interested

The MC is too proper for my taste, whenever one of the family members comes on to him he already thinks "shit" and makes up some excuse to avoid the +18 scene with her.

If you're going to play 4 chapters of something just for the graphics, there are more rewarding things out there.
