Ren'Py - Granter of Your Desires - R [v0.16 Demo] [MaxCoffee]

Speaking as a fan that loves the Persona games (and the women in them) I thought this was a dream come true. Put aside the paywall issue, the thing that really puts me off this game is really the body proportions of the models. I mean. I get that in order to make a porn game about Animated Characters you have to embellish a bit but seeing Characters like Sae and Chie with big tits just puts me off the whole thing. The only character that even remotely comes close to the right body type is Ann.....I can't really recommend.

Downloading this game is a waste of your time. Not only the entire gameplay is about clicking and grinding, at the end of it there is no reward - there is not a single hot scene. Similarly the narrative may have been as well deleted because, reading it will give you a brain rot. It just doesn't make any sense and it's full of errors. So the entire game is about pressing SKIP and continously clicking until you unlock all the scenes which themselves aren't worth it. Calling it a game is asking for a lot, it's more like a subpar koikatsu/illusion animation slider.

I guess it could be summed in this way - I played this so you don't have to.

By the way, just because it's a persona game doesn't make it a good game. 5 star reviews given solely because it's a persona game are disingenuous. It's like slapping 10 star review on Diablo 4 because it has Diablo in name but everything else is crap lmao.

I'm inclined to give this a 5 star rating because of the somewhat dishonest reviews being left. If I could rate this 4.5, I would.

To be clear, there is a paywall for SOME of the content. However, the vast majority isn't behind a paywall. Easily ~70-80% of the content is available for free.

Unfortunately, it is somewhat a grind to get to that content but a lot of content is available for free. There are also some minor bugs that I ran into while playing.

With all this in mind, if you enjoyed Persona 5 or P5 Royal, you should give the game a try. I personally enjoyed the content that was freely available and you very likely will as well if you give it a chance.

I like the models, I like the art, I like the gameplay (there's grind, but just not too much of it to progress with the women).

What I do NOT like and made me downvote this game is the paywall in front of ~ 50% of the game. It teases you to unlock it by patroning the developer.
Get this, dev: People who like your game AND your attitude are much more likely willing to pay for your game..

TLDR; Would have been a great, 4*'ish game if that greedy developer wouldn't have put it behind a paywall.

Paywalling content in a parody game with stolen artwork from the official source and a host of grammatical errors. This can be salvaged, but it'll take some work.The core game is also really grindy for limited dialogue and models that look pretty off at times. Hopefully the devs will address these issues on the sooner side.

0.11 bit grindy took me about 40mins-1hr to finish the demo.
feels more of a sandbox rather than something to progress/dating sim i didnt feel fulfilled/accomplished.

how to give the game more life? maybe create its own story and create new characters? though if the dev wants to make it soley an Hgame then just turn it into a complete sandbox or give it the option to.

the sfx for the s*x scenes could be better its pretty jarring
the faces for some of the heroines doesnt feel like they match their original chars maybe thats just me.

the pros speak for themselves in terms of the character models are good

I personally haven't gone through everything here (in fact the only one I really pursued was Naoto since she's my favorite from P4(G) and remains my favorite girl), but I did like what was there. Excluding the want for more content and whatnot, the only thing I have a bit of an issue with is the grinding. I don't mind if there's a grind especially in a Persona parody game where grinding is a part of the main game anyways, but maybe there can be an occasional luck mechanic that increases the amount gained or whatnot so that players can get back to the main thing: seducing and banging their favorite P5 and some P4 girls.

8/10 - a good start and eager to see more!

Let's divide most renpy games in two types here, for a gross oversimplification:

Either your game is a HCG grabber, or it's an actual game.

If you're going to make an actual game, then sure - use stats, work mechanics, sandbox mechanics, but make the story and plot and dialogue and mechanics have meaning and actual decent interaction.

And if you're going to make an HCG grabber, then make it an HCG grabber - no need to dull my mind with boring dialogue and stupid mechanics other than just a basic interface to pick the render I find to be the hottest.

This is meant to be an HCG grabber. Unfortunately, it's one of the worst HCG grabbers I've ever seen. The dialogue barely interests me (some quips during sex were fine at times), but the true horror is the interface. Everything that "goes back" usually throws you back to your bedroom. It's obscenely annoying to walk through the map and raise your stats. You got a girl on tuesday that you wanted to hang out with? Sorry you need more kindness! Where you get kindness? Oh, this other girl that shows up every other day in a rooftop. What's that, you accidentally clicked Shibuya instead of Academy? Back to the bedroom you go! Repeat this with zero dialogue changes until you finally get to the H-scene, with zero buildup or story towards it at all!

Like, really? It's like I'm playing cookie clicker and rewarded with a HCG after X clicks. This was thoroughly UNenjoyable. Nothing of value is added by any of the mechanics to the game other than blueballing you into waiting for the next HScene.

It's a shame because the dialogue in the h-scenes is actually fairly decent and, despite other comments, I rather did enjoy the renders. But damn it dude, the gameflow/mechanics are mindnumbingly bad.

The public versions(better called a demo since most of the good stuff is locked behind the paid version) gives you a good idea on what the game offers.

A really basic sandbox game with pointless grindy mechanics to make it longer to unlock the scenes.
Models arent anything to write home about, probably can find similar/better floating around in the internet and the scenes arent anything special either.

Honestly if this wasnt a persona parody, it would have 1/10th of the viewrship because the writing is bad and is only there to go from sex scene A to sex scene B but you get pointless grind to prolong the game inbetween them and when you finally get to the lewd scenes, they arent worth the hassle of slogging through all the above since they are pretty subpar to say it nicely...

This game got a lot of positive attention, which, it deserves some of, certainly, but that's mostly for its themes. While the remake is better than its predecessor, it carries over some of the same problems the original had: sub-standard renders, too much grinding, and uninteresting dialogue. If this is your first ren'py experience, it's not bad, but it needs a lot more work.

That said, it's still early in the dev cycle, and it's a small project. It gets a star for effort, at least, and for catering to some of the more niche interests a lot of games like this just don't. It just needs a lot more work in directions that it doesn't look like this developer is going.

Good experience, even though it's a fandom, it shows that the creator took great care. The first time I played it I was expecting a bigger story mode, but basically in the game you will spend your time working and dating girls in order to advance.

I recommend it for those people who want to see great scenes with good quality.

A very average dating simulator, that isn't bad in any particular way but not interesting enough with its narrative content or sexual content to keep me interested. Recommended for people who will get milage out of the parody aspect because aside from that there isn't much that stands out as a porn game

really simple and fun game if you like personavthen you will like this. not a ton of content as of .4 but hopefully this will change. sex scenes are good and really fun. my only complaint is that there is no sex sounds.

This game is very early devlopment in the demo stage but its content is great well animated the models look just as good as the real in game models and the chracters are just like there in games selfs this game is only going to get better and if your a fan of Persona 5 you should play this h game and share / support the creator if you can

Finally! A Persona game and it's incredible. The animations are great, the story is persona-y enough but the actual sex scenes come pretty quick and there's a good variety with most of the girls already.

My only complaint is the camera shake is pretty rough in a few sex scenes. It would be great to completely remove this, or just lessen the intesnity of it. Also, I think all of the scenes so far from your character's POV, which is cool, but it would be nice if there were a few more camera angles sometimes.

Thanks for this. I don't see a lot of Persona games in general. While very limited, the story ideas are fun and the content is satisfying and timely. I would prefer a few more scenes for characters already passed, I can assume this may come after all the characters become present.

I'm pissed. The only issue I had with this is now mute, Dialogue has been added and to be honest... Its pretty good.

So now all I have to say is that I recommend that, If you like persona 5, play this. Its not snack sized, (takes about 1-2 hours to do everything right now) and doesn't take a chunk out of your storage, I see no reason why you shouldn't pick this up unless your some sort of Ohya enthusiast.

Played this game for a solid few patches early on. It was never anything great, pretty much being little more than a scene viewer for some alright 3d animations of the various characters, padded out with a little bit of stat grinding. But once the new models were introduced, I haven't been too into it since.

A lot of the new characters are from other personas, which is fine really, but I'd vastly prefer to have this just be P5 with sex. The grinding's gotten a lot heavier with the new updates, the models look pretty bad compared to the old ones, most of the reworked scenes went from pretty good to barely passable, and every update spreads out its content too wide to be anything substantial.

Early on, you spend a couple days working up the money and social stat required to go home with one of the romance options, then hit it after some contrived reasoning. It wasn't the greatest, but it worked. Now you barely make eye contact with them before your pants are off. Any immersion is gone as this becomes a scene viewer with an awkward menu system and some lame dialogue.

It's not the second coming of satan, but it's nothing I want to come back to any time soon. It's a shame, seeing as I was really pumped to see it get updated to become something a lot better.

Still a bit early to be reviewing, so perhaps the game will change in the future.

A lot to love about it, excellent models and setting. Writing isn't bad for what's in it and true to each character more or less.

For now, its your bare minimum grind date/fk simulator. Currently three scene's with each girl (Haru, Makoto & Ann) except Kawakami who has five scenes.
Each scene (date with girl) consists of three new animated sex/blow job scenes.

So if you like games that gets straight into sex scenes this is for you, however you will have to grind for each scene. for instance for first scene you need to grind out 10 of each points, obtain 1 point each time you study/eat/work. Of course you also need money to take them out / buy gifts so there is a bit of grind there.
The grind pay off is very low for 3 animated parts for each date.

Alot of missed potential, could have been alot more. Could have had more fun with the writing and could have done alot more teasing, corruption.. instead of straight fk blowjobs scenes.
Then again if this is going on from the end of P5 with your harem... i guess its kind of what you'd expect.

TL;DR : If your a lover of P5 and like going straight for sex/blowjob scenes this may be for you. However its a Big Grind for the 14 scenes (3 animations per scene).

Absolute bare minimum of a game. Grind stats, in a boring way, unlock more scenes. That it, nothing what you can't find anywhere else.

Game is emulating the persona 5 mechanics of attributes, but there is really no depth to it, you repeat same actions until you hit the trashold to unlock next scene, then you figure out what you need to do to unlock next treshold for next scene, repeat this for 3 girls you golden. Each girl has 3 scenes, and all of them are well, basic. There is no charm in writing, the characters act quipping like in a game, but lack of actual meat in writting to make them shine as in the game.
