Unreal Engine Abandoned Growth Zone [v1.0] [Goolba]

Why did this game got tagged Abandoned?
Unless it has only been stated on the Dev's discord I have no clue why it got tagged as such.
It just had an update and the Dev has been active on both his twitter and Patreon as recent as late December 2024 with no word on ether of those they were leaving the project.

I am genuinely curious if I missed something or it was just a mistake.

You can not see black snow man in the dark room, especially, when he is not there.
Screen is black, because snow man is gone.

Heya, one of the testers here, its a bit complicated.l, but i'll try to explain.

Basicly, the game is made in UE5, and had its fair share of instsbility, but in 0.9, and 1.0, the game engine was updated, former compromising the stability, and latter straight up crumbling it. I've redownloaded the game 80 times in efforts to try to find a workaround, but to no use. This is when Goolba decided to instead, rebuild the game from scratch using the new UE knowledge he got, which is now GZ : Bigger is better.

I really wish to say the 1.0 is complete, cause it kinda is, and barring the start up fail, its good enough to stand on its own, but for all purposes the the development on this build is discontinued to focus on GZ2. I just wish the black screen issue gets fixed one day.

So tl:dr, we released 1.0, game fundamentaly broke, we went to make a GZ2 from scratch for stronger fundation.

Heya, anwsered the reason why in last reply, *BUT*

One of our members on discord named Sirius did find a possible way to open it :

"I found solution to that deleting the save in localappdata fixes the non opening issue"

I didn't have much luck with it, but maybe it helps you, thankfuly GZ2 is much more stable and without that issue if you wanna give it a try.
