Well, I'm pretty skeptical that such a single request can get you banned

It appears Chat Noir was able to ask the question. Anyone, from KittyMaid to DMSTS, from MortimerScharf to camper674 can confirm these screenshots from the [happy-heart-discussion] channel. And this isn't the first time someone asked this very update's release date. One can scroll up to seldar12's casual conversation with Whuffin back at the 28th of August.

I seriously doubt Doggie Bones is that petty for something that mundane request. He's vague alright, but he's not admiral fucking holdo from tlj.
I think that he saw that I'm not a patron and thought "fuck it, I'll ban it" Great attitude towards the audience =)
Just write in the rules "you can't ask about updates if you're not a patron"

The rule in the discord server has been there most likely before 2023, so it is considered an rule break and it might've gotten to the point that it was starting to annoy Whispey and Doggie Bones, with other admins and moderators as an possibility.

That specific rule forms part of a message sent with rules going from 15. (that one) to the 18. "Don't say banana.". Yes, I'm not kidding you, that's the rule 18.

That message was las edited Sunday 20 August 2023 03:35

Truth be told, I am excited to see where this game is still heading. I think the new update looks good so far.
I think everyone for the most part agrees the game is good and Doggie does good work. Where we all butt heads is over the rate of content getting put out and the general radio silence Doggie maintains between updates (perspectives on this one vary drastically).

Alright time for myself to get banned from the discord (Surprised i'm not already). Hot take here i know but maybe the dev should avoid giving us estimates when the update is going to be done. Considering the update schedule gets longer and longer those estimates we made were thrown out the window, the dev's own estimate was thrown out the window. Coupled with the fact the discord edited the rules in august 20th maybe there is some cause and effect?

People wanted estimate dog gave. We saw estimate and as time drew nearer to update release dog realized too much work yet to be done (feature creep) that it needed to be delayed and to avoid the negative pressure of people wanting an estimate on that delay they implent the rule stating no asking for release dates or estimations. Do i say it's the right idea to ban people just wanting to know the thing they are paying for is going to release? No your paying for a product and deserve updates of information. Do i think we on f95 deserve the same updates of info that patrons get? No we aren't paying so any info we do get is pretty nice to have. The point is the dev's ability to keep timeframes is worse then most triple a studios. (not saying other parts are that bad just the timeframes are pretty bad).

TL:DR No estimate rule makes little sense in most regards and to ban people for it is the equivlant of banning people for the cum chalice yanderedev style. And that this dev's effort in scheduling is worse then Triple A game studios, or yanderedev.
I was going to say it almost like yandere dev, but you bet me to it. And yes if you cant make something in time and you know it, dont give estimates, that make things worse, also he should at least give a early wip of the update at least to keep most people happy, but well most of people here pirate games so from is point of view we dont have rights about saying that.

Have you not seen how unhinged people get not knowing anything? They start mapping out the position of every planet and the alignments of stars relative to us just to get some kind of info.

They don't always pay, usually it's the people that don't. When you get an influx of random people asking it becomes spamy. It's text, not speech, so everything asked is pretty much recorded. You can scroll and see previous answers. "When game?" is the most common question that all devs get o_O

This isn't astronomy pseudo-science, atleast most aren't. The majority here on F95 perceive the timeframe based on precedence and the dev's own words. I'm sure the people you describe with that statement are far and few to begin with. And I hardly see any of them being interested with a porn game on a pirate site, one that is both furry and scat content. You don't see those people diddling around Ichikoro either. At least that dev has reasons and isn't as prone to ban inconsistently, if at all.
"When game?" is the most common question that all devs get o_O
And it's extremely immature if such a dev bans without a clear standard of banning to those who asked. Especially if he missed the deadline. By now he already stated "End of August, and a few days after that if otherwise", and he appears to be bloating the update with the rat to extend the date of release, despite no indication (not even a month-before warning) that it was even originally considered.

At best, he's done an with the rat content to the roadmap.

and you think its not immature to constantly whine about a pixelate porn game? If i'm not worried or complaining as a supporter, why are you? (who isn't losing anything) where's the logic? What more is he taking from you rather then me?

He does, i literally made a post of me playing it. #2859
Maybe the people around here would believe you more if somebody else played the game, and not just you.
Who knows, maybe you just prototyped the game, used the discord available assets and made yourself a little potemkin village kind of scenario.

Maybe, to prove that this is indeed the case, you may submit all the files in the folder for, lets say, more public appraisal?

and you stay quiet this time!

It is, and you're one of them.
If just guessing the timeframe from the word of the dev himself is psuedo-science, then may everyone who asked for the release date of video games in general be so as well. And those who does so for movies as well. Fuck it, The Critical Drinker is a pseudo-scientist for just relaying what Marvel has posted for .

And pray tell, what statement of mine on this thread was pseudo-science that is specifically related to the release date?
And it has to be pseudo-science, not sarcasm.
If i'm not worried or complaining as a supporter, why are you? (who isn't losing anything) where's the logic? What more is he taking from you rather then me?
Except I did (and I've mentioned it before on this thread), and I certainly am beginning to regret keeping my pledge, even if it is a dollar a month. This isn't even the first time I've donated to a game I follow on F95. And I've checked your history post, and I'm fairly certain you've never heard of them.

I'm beginning to think you are extremely disingenuous and dishonest in your conduct. You're more looking for cheap gotcha moments and "win debate at all cost" than being reassuring from how you have been behaving here in the over 50+ pages to build 20. So, I want you to seriously answer the two underlined with a straight face. I honestly see what MortimerScharf was rambling about, unless you can answer these two sincerely to me.

I can't wait for all of this to blow over the moment the update drops... Until the next update gets delayed and this all starts over again. The cycle will never be broken.

Yup. It seems like every time any update gets finished, it's going to be some praise for the new content, 20 pages of "When/Where new update?!", a couple of actual WIP posts (what everyone hopes the new post notifications will be if people would stop posting and just wait patiently), and a touch of this
