We've tried repeatedly. And it gets repealed as soon as the label is slapped. And we're talking +6 months.
Abandoned: used in the following cases:
  • The developer states that the development has been permanently suspended.
  • After 3 months of inactivity from the developer's public creator/crowdfunding accounts (Patreon, SS, etc), we will resolve special circumstances or scenarios on a case-by-case basis (no creator accounts, creators developing for free, Patreon accounts under review/ban).
  • No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months).
  • Game threads that are marked On-hold for over 6 months with no game update.
  • Note: this prefix is only removed upon the release of a new update for purchase/download.
I am assuming the developer hasn't gone completely radio silent, which is usually the main reason it doesn't get marked as abandoned, that and generous mods

The developer is supposed to be active (I mentioned earlier he posted some unfinished build of an "upcoming" update somewhere, maybe for patreons and subscribestar, know from a comment in the discord).
The mods are encouraged to give the benefit of the doubt in this situations, no reason to mark as Abandoned if it isn't. Why would you just label it other than out of spite? Anyone who comes across this thread will notice immediatly how inactive the dev is, and the insane gaps between updates. At the end of the day is an informative tag.

(Something cool to think about would be some tag that tells you the last time files where updated, or something of that matter to track how long since the last update. To sort more active games that have more fluent changes and development)

Sorry, from the looks of your message you don't have it, but would anyone have access to that new build? I'm interested to at least know what was added (though I doubt it's enough for a "redemption")

I would implement a top tier shitter update where i throw vergil into the game for shits and giggles, but this game relies on wack ass spawning rules for things so uhhhh. Balls.

Instead i took it upon myself to add vergil in as a texture for players escorting npcs in back stage as a nice way to tell you how
fruitless your efforts will be
1746144580801.png

Yep he just straight flips you off and cuts off so many textures for some reason, am i going to spend time on figuring out why this happens? Nope, get fucked.

Secondary reasoning is fuck sprite sheets, hate em, can't just import images and assign reference values to them, they need to be on a sprite sheet. Which is aids. If the game didn't use the gamemaker engine which DEMANDS sprite sheets, wouldn't be too difficult to add in custom characters, but since it does you need to work around it. Otherwise it's not that difficult to add in your own custom npcs and stuff.

Oh god i decided to look into the sprite sheets, it's a fucking mess.

No wonder this person's work ethic is so fucking ass his sprite sheets are so unorganized it's actually an achivement to make it this unorganized.

You might be thinking "Joe it can't be that bad right? Like maybe it's just not organized by character right?" haha WRONG.

This is the cleanest sprite sheet i can find in terms of lacking ABDL. If you look. We have sprites from NEARLY THE FIRST DAMN VERSION OF THE GAME
JEsus fuck.png What the fuck is even happening here? We then get the daycare cow WHICH IS WAY LATER DOWN THE DAMN LINE then some normalcy of mordecai and the bunny girl who are in the same update THEN WE JUST GET A RANDOM DAYSCARE SCENE WHICH IS WAY PRIOR TO THE COW WHAT THE SHIT
1746145615765.png Why does he make it this fucking confusing and what's worst? IT'S SPRITE SHEET FUCKING 222 OUT OF 247. THAT'S RIGHT THE GAME IS MAKING CALL FOR FUNCTIONS ON AN ENEMY FROM THE FIRST LEVEL OF THE GAME ON A SPRITE SHEET THAT'S NEARLY AT THE FUCKING END OF THE SHEETS, this means the dev is fucking constantly reassigning texture call functions everytime they add a sprite sheet if this is what happens.

I'm genuinely impressed every time we learn more about how the game works.
Case study of how not to make a game.
Yandere dev son or HPP dev daughter, you choose

I know I've been hard on this game but calling DB Yandere Dev is a bridge too far, eh?

Its one thing to have some amateur work in your game, one thing to basically scam people on patreon for thousands a month, but other than that, I dunno that the dev is like, a total POS like Yandere Dev is.

Was looking at the sheet and thinking "wtf is wrong with it?" then i realize it contains enemies from 4 different zone/biomes on one sheet, holy fuck this is nearing yandev's multiple if calls on update.

its a miracle we got some sort of demo product with those kind of data/file organization, what kind of furry magic is this?!

Not only is it from 4 different zone/biomes, they are almost all from different updates so they have no reason to be grouped up like this.

So if i had to guess, i hope that in this case that doggie actually isn't this disorganized (Wouldn't be shocked if it was the case) and the reason it's this bad is because they actually don't use multiple sprite sheets but one giant one. Now the one giant sprite sheet idea has some ground, multiple sprite sheets have no relation in what they contain, the sprite sheets contain items from the first enemy releases of the game to the cursed ABDL mint.

Now in terms of coding potentially the giant sprite sheet gets uploaded and everything gets broken down from there and assigned but the game engine breaks it down further for easier file read times.

Or doggie could be this disorganized.

Anyways here's the sprite sheet labeled 1
1746186316270.png

Some of it makes sense as they should be loaded first but then you get enemy sprites that aren't even apart of the same region / updates so perhaps the dev just uses a really oversized sheet and then it gets broken down by the game engine for the release we get. Which hopefully explains how fucked these sheets are. (ABDL has been censored because mint is in that grey area i don't wanna fuck with / am not comfortable with)

Oh my god. I'm getting flashbacks from else ifs from Yandere Simulator.

As for joemancool, you're doing the lord's work with this. Don't stop here, find whatever bs the data is loaded with.

As for Happy Hearts, I suggest you split each stage into it's own pocket game. The upside is that you're not dragging all the files alongside the new content each update and whatever extra bytes that are gained through a dispersed set of games (since there are their own game) are offset of the loads of repetition of the centralized singular game.
From dispersion of stages into separate games, you can update them separately, bypassing Patreon guidelines and allowing a more focused development of the individual sects of each game. And let's be fair, the stage select hub content is so little (as well as money being so useless to the point that an ATM exist) that nobody would actually miss it.
