This game just kinda pisses me off.
Purely mechanically, it acts like it's really going to be gameplay heavy with the heat/stamina mechanics but I didn't really see strategic placements of enemies (and in fact more seemingly random enemies are placed as the difficulty gets harder), and there's no real status effects or ailments or anything to really change up enemies so most all of them just run up to you and grab you in melee or in a small area. Okay, whatever, so then it's a button spamming sort of beat em up game? Fucking no because any time you find any sort of rhythm in this game it suddenly doesn't work. If you spam light attacks, you run out of stamina. Spam heavy, run out of heat. Too many attacks, now the enemy is intangible for some reason. EVENTUALLY I got a pattern down that involved constantly mixing in the heat/stamina recharge button, but it's not fun, and is perplexing when you're just starting.
Additionally, the stages are fucked. The lab is by far the most enemy dense hardest navigate area and then every area after that is way more horizontal or have way less enemies/more puzzles.
Controversially, I do not think having so many animations around every weak enemy enriches the gameplay side at all. The fat bitch has FIVE scenes and has two of the easiest to avoid attacks in the whole game, and a couple of those scenes are elaborate.
But fine, alright, whatever. It's not megaman and you're just supposed to go around and lose to every enemy for each character, I expected too much, I get it. But then why the fuck isn't there a gallery, why is there no way to skip forward and backwards in these long ass scenes. Even if you don't want to program a gallery surely you can create a room where there's every enemy in the game, except you probably can't because it's probably poorly coded or some shit. I don't know.
