VN - Ren'Py - Abandoned - Haramase Simulator [v0.4.0.3] [WAIFU.NL]

The writing and presentation are all top-notch.
The only real issue lies with how hard it is to discover some new scenes. Anything else I can complain about is just part of it being unfinished. I'm hooked.

Edit: The antisemitic "jokes" have not aged well. This has ended up inducing a downward spiral of my opinion of this game rife with reused (stolen) assets. While not to this absurd extent, there are other games that appeal to the impregnation fetish while keeping on an even vaguely acceptable update schedule.
Some girls being locked behind random encounters is also an issue.

The following review is based off my personal experience with playing this Game/Visual Novel... I try to be as brutally honest and detailed as I can, and these are my own opinions and thoughts, from one or more play throughs... The version this review is based on is v0.3.0.1...

This is first and foremost a game that is meant to be silly, and if you're into pregnancy fetish then it is definitely up your alley (it's not my thing)... This game also includes the oh so over used Family Sex stuff, of course another one (just one character)... It couldn't just be unique and not include it...

The visuals of the characters are all 2D hentai based, including a lot of the backdrops... The user interface is pretty good and the tutorial was good as well... There are a very limited number of animation visuals... A lot of the sex scenes, especially with the random women, have the penis censored out, but not all of them... Some are still fully viewable... I didn't see a patch to remove the censorship...

The script is pretty spot on, as I didn't really run into hardly any spelling/grammar errors... The plot (what little there really is) revolves around a male protagonist who just got his membership card for a government regulated organization that allows him to go up to practically any woman and demand sex, in order to get her pregnant, per the law (in Japan)... The backdrop basically is an absurd occurrence where a lot of women, but most of the male population of the planet, has dies off, leaving a very small ratio of men to women... Each country deals with the crisis differently, with Japan having laws allowing men to apply for membership in an organization, as I mentioned above, in order to repopulate the planet... What makes it even more silly, is that each woman has to be paid a fee by the man, based on their sexiness, age, fertileness, etc. which was supposedly put into place because, when it was free, things got out of hand... Go figure...

Game play is interesting enough with having to work up job skills (to raise money and open content) in different jobs/careers in order to pay fees to the women the protagonist plans to impregnate... And it isn't a guarantee, as the protagonist has stamina to worry about while doing various activities including impregnation attempts... There are a set of women characters that can be opened up via game play (they become part of the characters profile harem), as well as lots of random women that can appear as you explore around the city for events and women... It is actually a bit complex at first, but the tutorial goes over most of it...

A lot of the dialogue during non-sex scenes can be silly and humorous, depending on the woman character being interacted with... And a lot of the random women have all sorts of crazy personalities... There are a couple other fetishes that play out, but nothing extreme... Most sex scenes play out just like you typically see in a lot of hentai, so expect noise text and so on...

Overall, even though the theme is basically lots of sex to get women pregnant, I found some of the dialogue/monologue to be cute and funny now and then... There is very little meaningful and/or deep story to the game... But some characters do have a small amount of story to them as you keep getting them pregnant over and over again... This is mostly a sex fest in a silly and sometimes humorous wrapper... Oh forgot to mention that, the protagonist has a score for getting women pregnant over and over and over... Just go to town... There is even an achievement system...

One warning though, when you run into the Oracle character, do not bother trying to cure her, it just eventually ends the game in a very powerful way... If you just want to check it out, I HIGHLY recommend saving game before hand... It was pretty silly and funny, but you're jaw will drop when you see what it does to the protagonists, everything, as you keep agreeing to all of it...

Will I revisit this one? Probably, just because it had me laughing now and then at the silliness and absurdness of some of the events and dialogue... I can't really give it a rating any higher than 3 stars, because apparently it uses artwork from other games/visual novels without the express permission of the original artists and/or publishers...

Ok, when I think of high quality porn games, Haramase Simulator is one of the games that I use as a yard stick to measure other games. Quite literally this one does everything it sets out to do perfectly. That could be the review in it's entirety, but I'll keep going.

First of all, understand that this game is by it's nature, a bit of a niche. Not every perv wants to be that socially awkward Japanese young man, and not everyone is going to want a game that focuses on impregnation. So if those things turn you off, you're going to have a different view of the game.

But the game itself is flat out astounding. From the custom menus to the fantastic integration, to the low but persistent amount of random number generation for events, to the life management sim aspects via the 'job' mechanic. This game just hits all the right notes. The art quality is both sublime and also consistent throughout, to the point where you don't even mind the censorship. The writing is for the most part very high quality, with only one or two points where it stumbles or feels lacking. Those moments usually being when you're repeating sex for the 3rd or later time with the same character. There is a real aspect of 'game play' when it comes to unlocking certain characters, even finding them, or watching your relationship grow as you add them to your virtual harem. But the game also has a fantastic 'curve' in difficulty as well. It practically throws the first few girls at you, and the only way you're going to NOT impregnate the cute neighbor girl early on is if you actively try not to.

I highly suggest that if you've never played this, you check it out. Especially since the 3.0 update really changed up some of the aspects of the game, trimming off some of the fat, and making the job system even more dynamic from a game play point of view.
