Hello! I’m thankful for your concern! I would like to address some points.
- I’m actually doing OK on the Patreon. Not terrible, not great.

- I’m a greedy person. I want to do more. I am never satisfied. I don’t want to rest on my laurels and collect a lazy check every month.

If I were to wait until I was in a comfy spot in life and entirely debt-free, then we would all be old with our d×cks falling off. I want to make a game people can f×p to now, not when they’re balding and married.
Also, I love Akari and my characters and I want to tell the story exactly as I envisioned them. I find it hard to play unvoiced VNs, and Akari was always planned with voice in mind. I hate, hate, hate, telling people to replay things because they got retroactively added in. Ideally, everything should be perfect on that first, magical playthrough.
Now, I think it’s interesting you mention Hangover Cat, because ABPLU being inconsistent was exactly one of its major criticisms.
For one, Hangover Cat does not draw. He hires artists, just like me.
ABLU actually had several artists. The cover art doesn’t match the spritework. The CGs didn’t match the sprites either. Even the CGs varied in quality from the beginning of the game to the end. I’m not going to talk about the characters and writing, because that’s another story.
Despite these inconsistencies, it’s still an excellent game. I enjoyed it, many others enjoyed it, but it's definitely not what I would call a consistent game.
As for outsourcing, I’m actually doing none at all. Because outsourcing means handing something off to someone else that one could do internally.
I only have one artist, Kamiya-san, who draws all the CGs and female characters.
Another, Tsukiyono-san, who draws the male characters.
Hibari-san voices Akari.
This isn’t outsourcing, but just hiring people to perform a role that’s physically impossible for me to do (I obviously cannot voice Akari). Outsourcing has a negative connotation in the modern definition, because it often implies cost-savings and inferior quality. Everyone I hire is pretty much a pro at their fields.
Now, even if I could magically draw, I wouldn’t do it, because that would leave me with basically
no time to write and code. The writing, the coding, the music selection, splicing the voice lines—that’s all me. No one else touches the game besides me. (I think you might be misinterpreting some of the comments here because I think consistency is one of my strong points. I do suggest everyone to try the game free on itchio first, and then let me know what they think!)
Anyway, I will agree that HangOver cat is a much more savvy dev and businessperson than I am.
Their projects (more kinks, no voice acting, cheaper artists, high H-scene count) are definitely easier to produce, and appeal to a wider audience as a result. It’s quick, accessible NTR that’s popular and easy to get into.
But I am not interested in a big audience or pure revenue. I do not work well splitting my attention across various games in progress. I just want more money to make one goodass game at a time. If I can make a living from that, awesome! But it's not my top priority at the moment. Once I finish this game, I'm probably going to use the outstanding funds to make a sequel or even more high-quality games. The yacht can wait until we get some leviathans donating.
That being said, I think your concerns are very valid and it’s something I do plan to take into account. I just wanted to give you reasons for the things I do. I've already scaled back on stuff like NPC VAs and UB artwork, but there’s no way in hell I’ll ever compromise on Akari lewds
