I assume the abandoned tag is because there hasn't been an update? It isn't abandoned unless someone on the team (Shilo, Barteke, PhantomBull, etc.) has communicated so, the latest update is actually being beta tested, or at least waiting beta-testing. The issue is/was simply having the person in charge of releases have life take priority.

I say that, because while not on the Dev, I am actively helping develop the game via making events and literally we are working on stuff, the stuff in question is just a merge between the event and code side at the moment.

Aka, we literally have a new release for people to play on the discord server, it's just not fully balanced or have every last bug fixed.

Not quite sure how you got it referencing a non-existent variable, how old is your game? Because I noticed it's trying to reference Karin when using 150, but Kari is on 35.

You need to take that one up with the moderators. Threads are marked as abandoned here after an extended period without communication on the developer's public-facing accounts. The only public-facing website for this game seems to be the forum, and it seems like the last bit of communication there is a dev blog from January. I don't think Discord counts, since it's not public.

I think the only way to get rid of the Abandoned tag is by posting a new version here, as per the rules:

• Abandoned: used in the following cases:
  • The developer states that the development has been permanently suspended.
  • After 3 months of inactivity from the developer's public creator/crowdfunding accounts (Patreon, SS, etc), we will resolve special circumstances or scenarios on a case-by-case basis (no creator accounts, creators developing for free, Patreon accounts under review/ban).
  • No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months).
  • Game threads that are marked On-hold for over 6 months with no game update.
  • Note: this prefix is only removed upon the release of a new update for purchase/download.

Could even post the beta version here. Might anger some people (see the last few dozen pages of the thread of The Fixer, which regularly has buggy dev builds uploaded), but it'd get rid of the tag.

Thanks for letting me know, I've just not seen it happen for another game I follow that has consistently went radio silent (Inner Self Development Program). Was just worried because didn't want people to get the wrong idea.

Stupid how they have the same rules for freeware games as they do for crowdfunded games. Makes you wonder if there isn't some truth to that April Fools joke.

The irony here is that very recently (a week or two at most) there was a post with one of the "devs" explaining what is going on and why a content update is taking so long (TL;DR "doing the technical stuff nobody except maybe modders sees"). One of the users made an angry reply (TL;DR "stop lying"), and seeing how those posts are gone I figure mods wiped it as an off-topic argument or something like that. So, at the very least between HHS forum and this thread, the "core" people are, in fact, "communicating".

On the flip side, HHS can easily qualify for the tag with how long it takes between updates. That is normal for this game.

Saw that the abandoned status is gone, thanks to whoever removed that even though by the rules technically it fits apparently.

But yeah, a lot going on isn't stuff a player will see but might be seen by others (such as modders) or felt and thus can't be pushed out half-baked. Most of it I don't understand (not a coder), but it genuinely can't be rushed without potentially causing the game to be unplayable because that's how deep the work is being done.

Like, right now, the most a lot of people will see is the beginning being purged of the '...' and '...?!' and a flavor choice of why you lost your previous job(s) if I was to send out as a mod what I have finished that I am most recently working on. Not because it's all that is done/I'm doing, but that's what can safely be released without potentially ruining the game, or flat out not working properly.

Either go into VEE and manually change the variable references to the proper one (the current Karin), or depending on how old the version of your game is and/or if you've switched from an older to newer, I think simply reloading could fix things.

well, i play 1.10.6 but with some mod and get error, dont know by game or by mod, but if i deleted mod it will normal ?

If the mod is active and might have an impact on Karin, then uncheck and reload events (in the game debugger) to see if anything changes. If it does, then the mod has something in it that needs edited.

If nothing changes, then it would be the base game itself.

so I've been playing for quite some time, decided to open the music club, and it just kind of stopped. after looking at a guide, I see that ameli coppers (who is in the club) should complain and leave and that the leader should ask me something early. I forget what I told the club leader, but does one of those options shut down the quest line? if so, can I cheat/debug it back open? I've been going for quite some time and would really hate to have to start over. I've been visiting them for quite some time after the cooking club and theater club moved, and the cooking club is asking for entertainment, but nothing is happening in the music room.

*edit* debugged a few more students into the music club and its working again.

Just wanted to give you a big thank you on posting that! Had the exact same issue, and adding more people to the club fixed it!
