I would think anyone would feel super hesitant to try and finish someone elses work without permission. Sometimes you just have to let things be. That said, I like the bigger sprites boy hero has, and think you could make a game with the same premise. Different but the same.

Boy hero has an unused bj sprite sheet for the tomboy. But not much else other than that so anything else would have to be brand new. Which suck because his last post sounded like he wasn't too far from teh final path, so I bet a bunch is completed on his pc. rip that data.

We will never know, but I feel boy hero had so much left unfinished. You have the ending we didn't get where we find out what happens in the mansion. But there is also stuff that looked like he thought about adding but didn't get to. There's the adventuring part in the Inn, where one guy has a crush on teh girl. So we could have had teh side content of the girl getting nailed by the other guy or mayor. We also had the other town girls and we did find out that the mayor was fucking. So we could have had those scenes too.

Ultimately I think it's best to just let is be done. While I think N_Taii is one of the few who could do it well, I think without permission from the original creator or their family it's just not worth doing. Who knows, the original dev might return from his Isikai and drop the update in 10yrs. lol

Yar, Inatari just dropped a new update for patreon subs and the public release of the previous update. Sprites definitely need some work and the male characters in it are... hellaciously ugly but it's a solid option for games similar to HC.

I dunno, I feel like Inatari takes the ugly bastard trope just a little too far. Inatari's ugly bastards are so ugly that they're a completely different art style than the rest of the characters.

That is genuinely one of the parts that I really like about Inatari's game so far! It's not perfect, especially since they are still clearly in the process of developing as an artist with how much some of the designs have already changed in less than a year. Which does make the bastards stand out a little more than they should, because I don't believe any of their looks have been updated last I checked.

But I am also a ~huge~ fan of Unbalance and Scars of Summer... so I think it goes without saying that my brain is clearly broken in some fundamental way.

Yea, the bastards are kinda a different style. He went more detailed shadows kinda with the new girls so the old stuff stands out a little more. When he gets to updating them they will probably look like they fit more.

I imagine that there won't be some massive time-jump to actual modernity so that it still exists alongside the other chapters... but getting to see a corner of Henteria that is built around more advanced "magic-punk" technology than straight swords & sorcery would be a super interesting change of pace!

and also I obviously have to support a Don Corneo/Tifa style pairing on principle alone. We already got the Duke this time, but as much as I like Rose as a character, I think there is just something special about the contrast between a strong, physically-imposing woman who can kick some serious ass being dominated and degraded by someone much weaker than she is who relies more on institutional power and authority...

Don corneo looks for the perfect wife and finds tifa but she diffrent from other makes him want her more but she likes cloud so he stays on her good side until finds a way to make her his

I agree with you on that. Would also work great with mystery/partial pov.
On the (early) road of degeneration she could get angry when he's getting ahead of himself and give him a blue eye. Or she simply tries to intimidate him with her superior strenght.
Then he will become angry and escalates the ntr, forcing her to submit bit by bit.

I don't disagree with the desire for updated status screens when a new outfit is introduced, but the artwork for the HC series is largely commissioned and ordering new artwork for the profile pics every few updates would be expensive.

We know ~1k$ was spent on sex soundtracks (moaning, blowjob etc.). But we do not know if the developer has set himself a limit on how much he's willing to spent on character portraits. As mentioned, we also don't know if every variation would cost the same as a completely new drawing or less.
Maybe he only wants to spent 500$ on commisions, maybe he already paid more than that.

Also, having to commission a whole new set of portraits for each new in-game outfits would make me think twice about adding said outfits.

I do have a "rough" budget for graphics in-game, and if given the choice, I'd much rather spend it on pixel art, with illustrations being the icing on the cake. So far, I've paid a lot more than 500$ on illustrations alone, and 500$ is about the budget of pixel art commissions alone for one single update, probably slightly more. That makes fitting any extra expenses a bit difficult.
