This is exactly why the Revenge ending is my favorite, for such a narrow reason. Everything else with King Noah didn't really appeal to me outside of being surprised by Thania's inclusion, which felt like it would've been a genuinely good twist if there had been a bit more setup for it. But Aywin's part of the ending is the one and only thing that really puts it above the rest for me, even though I think the NTR ending works better as a whole.

I remember about a year ago there was this...i don't wanna call it a rumor cause it was more than that, it was an idea more like, N_Taii mentioned that he MIGHT do an ending where the 1on1 relationsips break off and the girls become full blown sluts (emphasis on MIGHT). Needless to say everybody who saw it had an overwhelmingly positive reaction to it (me included).

I first thought about it during the Update where Leto is kidnapped by the natives, but a revenge ending with a setting like that is something i'd be much more interested in than another harem ending where Leto gets every girl.
Let's say Leto overthrows Rose and the Duke somehow and after he's king of Nos'Ra he's like:
"You wanted to act like sluts ? Here, go and act like sluts"
and then he makes them do all kinds of things.
...and they lived happily ever after, THE END.

I feel like Leto deciding that he's too good for all of them and going as far as to not even touch them, istead he accepts them for what they truly are which is...whores, is a much better conclusion to the "revenge ending". The ending is that Leto "forces" them to embrace what they've become and to remain sluts for the rest of their lives, which would mean a lot of dick for Haylen i'll admit, but i'll stand by what i said. xd
Maybe he turns Rose into a maid whose job is to entertain his guards, maybe he's gonna send Lily to work as a whore in the whorehouse, after all she's obsessed with money.
I could give 15 other examples without thinking but i feel like it's already a stretch so i'll leave it at that. xd

Oh, believe me, I very specifically remember that possibility being brought up and still have my fingers crossed for it to make it into the game later on, even as the story leans harder and harder into the antagonists becoming possessive over them (which I'll confess, has always been a bit of a vibe-killer for me with NTR because it just makes them come off as more insecure than anything)

But with how big of an ask it is to basically add what is basically a fourth unique ending, I keep reminding myself to temper my expectations. More than anything, I wish that one of the main girls had been given something other than "one antagonist, step-by-step corruption" path that made up almost the entirety of Chapter 2 with a handful of exceptions. Probably not Rose, since she is supposed to be the love-interest and having her paired up with the biggest villain makes thematic sense... but between Cyanna or Haylen, I feel like either of them easily could've taken a more interesting path and immediately made the one that stayed the same feel more memorable by not having so much direct competition.

With Haylen, I would've been so interested to see it deal less with Jazon and more with various people (mostly men) who attend her church services, as a way to convey the culture of the city becoming worse over time. That it starts with them just going there to innocently ogle her a bit, followed by some lewd remarks mumbled in hushed tones, where it only gets more bold and aggressive from there.

Or with Cyanna, putting more emphasis on the guard barracks as a whole, of seeing her slowly lose control over her own men starting with the rowdy members of the Duke's militia who don't take her seriously, but then having it slowly spread to the more loyal ones who at one point respected her, but gradually turn against her to join the fun once they see enough depravity to stop being intimidated by her. Over time, having all of that professional decay until Leto is the only one who is still in the dark.

Some variation of this would honestly be my dream come true for the Revenge ending this time, to make it feel unique from the one in Chapter 2! Also that I can't help thinking there isn't a ton of direct overlap in the audiences between the ones who want a harem ending, and the ones who are eager to become the villain or exact some kind of penance on the girls. Like in my case, I'm sure plenty will tolerate it for the part(s) that they DO enjoy, but it just seems kind of like jamming together two pieces from entirely separate puzzle boxes. If anything, I feel like any kind of harem would almost be better suited for the Happy ending (even though I assume it will be played straight and be dedicated to Leto's romance with Rose)

Also, this is a completely unrelated train of thought to any of the current discussion, but I just remembered that I wanted to leave some feedback for N_taii. As always, I might be entirely on my own here... but now that Update 9 has gone public for a bit of time and I don't need to feel bad about spoiling any of the story for people here, this chunk of Haylen's story really irked me something fierce.

I didn't mind the actual content — even if it did feel slightly underwhelming to have the next big step for her corruption after such a long hiatus amount to "they 69 in the next room" after already doing both of those sex acts separately — but the bait and switch with the thugs that Jazon hired for his scheme was just... immensely frustrating for me in a way that soured my whole mood for the rest of the questline. It just feels ~bad~ to have the game tease a scene like that, get my hopes up for something genuinely unexpected and dramatic to happen, and then promptly swerve right back onto the path with Leto coming to the rescue. Instead of enjoying what was actually there, I found myself just quietly ruminating over how I would rather be watching a scene of Haylen with those two lowlifes instead of anything that was actually happening on my screen.

And that's not to say the game needs to include a scene like that, because I'm well aware of how sketchy that can be for a creator dealing with Patreon guidelines. But if you aren't going to test those waters, then it just seems cruel to dangle that in front of the audience for the sake of shallow tension that doesn't actually matter in the long-run outside of giving Jazon his obligatory +1 sympathy from Haylen for her to cross one more intermediary line with him.

I personally would have disliked much more if the thugs had gotten anywhere with Haylen than what we got.

Getting invested in the development of relationships of the characters just to see the girl get ganged on by random thugs sounds frustrating as hell.

We have those side NPCs like the other guard girls for situations like these, where it won't hurt the natural development of the main stories

I actually agree, it wouldn't have felt earned at all. It would've been a random curveball without any real foreshadowing with Haylen's character, and it's hard to imagine how her story could continue from there (not impossible to make it work, but very tricky to say the least and probably not worth the immense amount of effort it would take)

Which is why I think that scene was a bit of a misfire and the whole quest would've been better off without that threat in the first place. If that's not going to be part of her story, then teasing it so aggressively just leads to inevitable disappointment for some people (or possibly just me) who aren't 100% fully invested in Haylen's corruption so far.

My issue with the revenge endings is that you're pretty much just picking over the leftovers. The women are so thoroughly messed up by that point that you're basically throwing a hot dog down a hallway. You just supplant the bad guy which is kind of boring. It's not so bad in HC1, but in HC2 you literally just slot into Zeno's role. A revenge ending should feel like revenge on everyone who wronged you not just the men.

Using HC2 as the example, with Aywin and Cellis it's hard to not want revenge on them directly. Aywin proves herself to be an absolutely godawful mother almost as soon as her husband is in the ground. She has absolutely no faith in Noa long before she has a reason to have doubts. Cellis is no better, falling to the pressure of her partner as a thin excuse to protect Noa when at that stage she has zero reason to think he needs protection. Noa is treated like shit by the two most important women in his life without much impetus for them to do so. To me that makes the revenge ending in HC2 less enjoyable by pure virtue of the fact that he's sparing the women who willingly cast their virtues aside often using him as an excuse for it. I can understand the high elf and the shopkeeper's daughter being a part of his harem, and Aywin winding up as little more than a whore is fitting, but Cellis deserved to be put in stocks for public use since she not only betrayed Noa but did so to his enemies more than once.

Leto is not Noa. His revenge should be against the people who destroyed his home, it shouldn't fundamentally change his personality. He'd have to be pretty far gone to touch Haylen, especially given the trauma that put him under her care. If Leto is going to wind up with a harem filled with emotional incest it's going to take a better finale build than HC1&2 to pull off. Leto is presented as a kind, easy going man who is a devoted boyfriend, and seems uncomfortable with sexual activity if it's not committed and private. Turning him into an adopted mother fucking, an adopted sister screwing, a best friend banging, and cheating girlfriend pounding, revenge taking bad guy is going to take a lot of work as it's such a radical shift in personality.

Isn't this already taking place? We saw the moral decay of the cavern soldiers (and the militia) in the update before last. Sure it was done in the spur of the moment but it is definitely already happening. It's set a precedent and I assume it's only a matter of time before such acts become more blatant and public. I am curious tho the direction ntaii wants to take this, whether any sharing would happen or be allowed by the possessive brutus.

I find the idea of a powerful female figure obeying the enemy to the detriment of her allies so incredibly hot so having cy service others to gain favors for brutus or the duke is right up my ally. It's even hotter if they help to bring down her allies.

Cyanna has definitely already lost control, if we're to be fair she never actually had control in the first place. Cyanna is middle management so she never had full control in the first place, was passed up for promotion in favour of Elrod, and the fact that it took exactly one mission for Elrod's troops to turn the women of the guard into sex slaves just drives that point home. Cyanna hasn't had any real control since before her own corruption began.

I don't personally expect there to be any sharing of Cyanna any time soon if it happens at all as Elrod seems to be extremely possessive. I could see the Duke forcing Elrod to let him sleep with Cyanna to show how he's the one in control or possibly they might swap similar to how Zeno and pink haired guy did in HC2 but swapping would feel out of character for both men to me.

Now that the topic of the revenge endings has been brought up I'd very much like to say my piece, because it's been festering inside me ever since I've played that ending in chapter 2. I'd like to start by saying that the revenge and fall of the hero is a troupe I love to bits, if executed correctly, which may be difficult to do. I think that the prominent shortcoming of the revenge ending of chapter 2 and why it had mixed reactions is because it felt impersonal, whereas revenge and vindication are deeply personal. It was so to an extent that the confrontation with Aywin was added as a super needed patch later on because it wasn't there at first.

And the reason why I believe it felt impersonal is one that has been brought up here; because there is no vindication in whoring out a whore, moreso if you are the one to have them in your harem, and had deep emotional connections to them. It's like a bicycle changing ownership, lacks shock and impact. You are denying them of the genuine connection they wanted with the MC, fine, but at that point they've already casted that aside for dick, so it feels underwhelming. If your only retribution is to deny them of your love and affection when they already gave that up for something else how is that a retribution if at all? It's more the fair consequences of their actions, and using them as sluts is more of a prize than anything at that point.

Now, having said all that I understand that it's difficult to make a satisfying revenge themed ending in a porn game without centering it around the porn aspects of it. But I think that it has to be geared towards a balance between the touchy-feely stuff and the h-stuff, if not it feels diluted as a revenge themed resolution.

For example, in chapter 3 I think we have a good setup to work out with. In previous updates we have been told of everyone's dreams and hopes. Why not have Leto single-handedly crush them as retribution? For example, IIRC Cyanna wants to be strong enough to protect those she loves, right? Well kill Brutus in front of her while she is hopeless against it, and then remind her that she is absolutely powerless and cannot protect a single thing, that in fact all she wanted to protect (Haylen, Leto, etc.) has came crushing down because she is nothing but hopelessly powerless, and couldn't do nothing to defuse the situation. Then have her became a public harlot and pleasure soldiers to relief their urges or something of that extent, for the sake of h-scenes.

And follow that formula with the others.

Like Lily wants to show her family that there is a life for their race beyond the shadows of centuries under the yoke of slavery. Well, enslave Lily and have her be a sexual slave then show her state to her family.

Etc. etc.

My ideas are nothing but spur of the moment examples, and are not intended to be taken too seriously, but I think they kind of exemplify what I was trying to convey. To make the revenge more personal, to inflict pain and retribution in a more deep level, for it to feel more impact-full and whole.

This is obviously highly subjective, but I do think that it's a validated opinion at least to a degree and I hope that if N_taii reads it, he finds it at least a bit helpful.

Hopefully N_Taii has realized that the corruption of the hero is as important as the corruption of the women in his life for the revenge to feel right. My biggest issue with the first two HC games is that they both drop the ball at the end zone. In HC1 you're forced to pick one of three endings that have had absolutely no build. It's literal deus ex machina.

HC2 does a better job by alluding to the backstory of the fallen goddess/Valkyrie encountered near the end before actually showing it, and giving Noa a little more development and showing more explicit suffering on his part, but ultimately it's still a powerful entity that shows up in the last half hour to present a handful of choices. To either go with the evil goddess for revenge, go on your own to die, or go with the other entity who puts you on the path of the "true" ending.

Everything about HC2 is an improvement on HC1, and HC3 is a massive improvement on HC2 so I expect N_Taii will do a lot better with the endings this time.

How you care about the characters is shown in the story and in the way you have written them, their inner-monologues, conversations, etc., I think you try to convey and channel what they feel in compelling manner, and you have massively improve in it since your first game. I think a lot of us would really appreciate if you'd do that hahaha. Maybe following what you'd say you can try and connect to how a wronged and deeply hurt Leto might feel, how raw and deep his negative emotions may be, how much he is festering them by the dephts of the betrayal etc. and trying to channel that.

Anywhow, playing update !0 rn, i'm quite liking it!

We've definitely seen it in a much broader sense, of them starting to slack off and fool around amongst themselves... but outside of showing off Cyanna's "updated" armor in front of everyone in Update 8 (which I genuinely loved), it feels like the story is mostly keeping those two pieces separate. You have the guards in general, mostly dealing with Sergeant Alys as the main focus of that, and then you have Cyanna/Ulrod happening in their own little corner.

Of course, it makes sense for this stage of the story, and it could very well start leaning more in that direction as the corruption progresses... but having played both of the previous chapters of Henteria, I feel like it's a safe assumption that the pattern will continue, of keeping the focus narrowed on the two of them behind closed doors.

Which I think is a shame, because it would be delightful to see a bit more of an exhibitionism angle worked in there, of Ulrod using Cyanna's sex appeal to undermine her authority with her own men, where all of them (save for Leto as the lone holdout) start to objectify her just as much as the less-disciplined militia members, making lewd jokes behind her back that Leto might overhear or whispering inappropriate remarks when she is trying to give orders. But hey, maybe I'm in for a huge surprise in future updates! I am just hesitant to set myself up for disappointment since it would be my own fault if I got super invested in it when that hasn't been a strong theme in the series so far.
