VN - Ren'Py - Her Last Piece [Act 2 v1.1.024] [SpiceMerchants]

Really intresting story with 2 paths, the female character is also really sexy so that is a plus point.
Only thing I can critique is that it's short even if you do both the romance and yandere path in your playtrough but will probably be fixed when the devs update the game further.

What a great game, I love this art style! but what make this game special for me is how twisted our LI can be, for a moment I really want to trust her back story. But now I can't wait to know what happen next.

Game is all about you being sent to kill the female demon king like character but instead falling for her as she acts super cute. Just ignore all her alleged past war crimes. Totally all made up. she is totally the victim. really, honest. Definitely biased because of her big boobs.

Main reasons to play see the female lead LI act cute and seductive and playful and sometimes tsundere like. Main plot is learning more about the girl and deciding for yourself whether or not she is the monster the other people thinks she is and her seduction is all an act or its all just them misunderstanding her.

Girl is animated like a live 2d character but does not react to your mouse movements or clicks. grammer and plot is solid enough and as seen in the screenshots the cgs are excellent. around 4+ full scenes with some scenes locked between the two routes which are "yandere / dominating" or "romance"

Interesting game, good art, voice acting is decent, though I am not exactly a big fan of voice acting in h games but I understand why some people like it.

H-Scenes are good and to compliment em there is a good character driven storyline too.

Excellent game! Great renders, solid voice acting and engaging story. I played this for the femdom content, which did not disappoint. Basically, you get to choose what route you want to take through ongoing choices.

Two of the main routes are romance vs. yandere, where the romance route make scenes develop in a more traditional loving way (though nonetheless interesting), while the yandere route make her more controlling and dominant (but NOT hard femdom in the sense of humiliation, pegging and cucking, for example). If you're into femdom, but not hard femdom, this game is fantastic.

The game is very choice heavy, and the choices are actually quite interesting. Usually this type of game has very clear cut and obvious route choices, whereas Her Last Piece often leaves you with conversation options that feel less unnatural and you will have to weigh options and what they could lead to without really knowing for sure. If this isn't for you, use the provided mod that shows exactly what route each answer will lead to.

Despite claiming to be a slow burner, the game is actually quite well paced in terms of sex scenes. It never feels dull and tedious to get to the next one.

As for feedback, I feel like the scenes (both erotic and non-erotic) where the point of view changes from protagonist POV to 3rd person is quite immersion breaking, and the game would really benefit from increasing (or even exclusively use) protagonist POV camera angles. But that could be a personal preference, and others would have to chime in on it.

Overall, one of the best games here. High quality throughout.

One of the best visual novels I've ever played. It has a lot of depth and emotion in its writing. I'm not someone who usually writes reviews, but for this title, I made an exception. The summary saying that she lies made my mind become weary of Arvenia, but as the game progressed, my doubts only increased. The game is so ambiguous that it becomes difficult to reason what is truth and what is lies. It could have more branching paths, but this is a problem with visual novels in general. The artwork is impeccable, and the jiggle physics are on point. Although I think Arvenia is not the most beautiful of ladies, the artwork manages to flaunt her beauty in some angles. 10/10 would recommend.

This game is such a hidden gem and should have so many more players than it does.
This is such a uniquely designed game with its art style and voice acting.

The writing is good, the art is phenomenal, and the voice acting is some of the best I've heard in an AVN. The journey the game takes you on with the dark queen is emotional and well-done, albeit a bit short.

The only real cons are its length and in some scenes it could use more renders between scenes to show something rather than just describing it.

Despite those cons I still think its one of the most unique and well made AVNs I've played and deserves more attention (especially since the creator has stated development of the last act will be slower due to financial struggles, very few supporters on Patreon). I hope more people check out this game and give it some love and support.

Incredibly high effort vn with beautiful art, lifelike animation and excellent voice acting, a shame it’s only promising three acts, but the production values outshine most traditional vns so it makes sense and I cant really complain, hope the developer is successful and continues to make more stories in the future

Great game, I really like the story so far and the art is great! It's a 10/10 as is, a cherry on top would be a bit more renders between text, especially the lead up to the sex scenes. But overall amazing work!

Review as of Act 2

I will first say that this is not really a slow-burn type of story that the description seems to promise. The pacing is actually rather fast and the tone of the story isn't too dark.

Now with all that being said, this is a nice and simple game and I don't really have any major complaints. Maybe the pacing is a bit fast and not all the dialogue clicks but the story and narrative is more than serviceable.

What really matters is the presentation of Arvenia, the love interest and focal point of the entire game. Her design and general artwork is unique and a definite high point. The art gets even better in the sex scenes, which look incredible. The character has a likeable personality and is lovingly brought to life through dialogue, backstory, and voice acting.

The presentation of this game is what really elevates the game. It really feels like a serious, high quality product. Seriously impressed by the visual presentation and level of polish in this game.

Game overall is very good and so are the visuals. Just a shame that there's not a large amount of content but I get that's difficult to accomplish given the price tag. Only gripe would be that plot/writing is a bit generic, but I'm not a writer so wouldn't know how to fix that.

What a great game. Art is perfect, voiced lines are really good. The story progresses great does not feel rushed or forced.
The only thing I did not like is that some options does not seem to matter (yet?).

The art is amazing + there are animations, the audio has music and good voice acting, the writing is great and the evolution of the relationship between Avrenia and the MC is believable and feels natural.
A must try.

This VN is a must experience.
The story is just so interesting and gripping, love the mystery behind Arvenia, you start going through so many theories, it's great. The art, music, panels and animations are beautiful. I'm hooked to the story and cannot wait for more.

That being said a thing I can point is that the missionary romance scene was a bit underwhelming, the one on the "balcony" (more like battlements) was far superior. I'd also say a little more detailed climax scenes would go a long way.

PROS
+ Art style, colors, and most visual parts are pretty good. Especially design of the Arvenia is quite well done, she is simply gorgeous, and cute AF, especially how her ears move when she is ashamed, etc.
+ Arvenia's (our main love interest's) dialogues are voiced, and it's kind of well-done by someone who knows how to talk sexy, so the sound represents the character as well, and she does a decent job with serious or dramatic parts as well.
+ Arvenia has quite interesting character, and learning more about her is enjoyable, and interesting, like how she was once human, things she did while she was human, she was one of people burn with healing powers, how she meet with her husband, how she was taken into one of parties fighting against dark lord Zharon by force to find Marika's Grimoire to stop him, how party members taken their frustations from her with hurting her, how later when thet found the book, and seal was broken the book take her into the hell for a year, torture her in that place, and left her back later on, as a demon, and after 1.5 years going home, and finding out her husband got married with her best friend, how she killed both, then went after her old party members, and slaughtered all, by torturing them like they deserved, but not stop there, and kill every loved one they have, everyone she can, and the more, and more demons gathered around her, and the Dark Queen Arvenia was born or learning more about her nightmares (''Only the pain... only the pain is real.'', ''Everyone betrays me in the end.''), problems, the darkness inside of her, and be there for her, see how your relationship with her develops, etc.
+ Development between the MC & Arvenia is quite well-paced, it's not too slow, or too fast, it's like how it should be.
+ Your choices matter, and your character can die from those choices, there are a couple of different death versions as well, the ones happening later on are especially interesting, because in some of them, Arvenia kills you because of her anger, and then says things like ''NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NO! NO! NO! WHY DID YOU MAKE ME DO THAT?! I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO THAT! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DIE!'' STOP IT! STOP DOING THAT! I NEED YOU! I NEED YOU! I NEED YOU!'' which is kind of realistic, and interesting.
+ There are two paths you can go, yandere, and romance, and obviously, it gives more variety to the game, changes some dialogues, and scenes, and adds different variations to the sex scenes as well, her eye color change is especially small, but a nice touch.
+ It's mostly subtle, but there are some suspense, and kind of horror scenes as well, along with mysterious things (''She lies'' like the time she lied about the necklace is a gift from her mother) happening, and making you wonder about them, and they re kind of interesting.
+ There are lots of sound effects, and fitting music for the scenes, and they make things more impressive.
+ Sex scenes are animated, some have only one animation & and position/angle, some have multiple animations with slightly different alterations to the scene before, and some have multiple animations & positions/angles, and they are decent.

CONS
- Start of the story, and some details like MC getting imprisoned, getting forced either to die or be a servant of the Arvenia, or getting bound with ritual, so he can't hurt her, or he will die, etc. But these are just there as plot points, and depending on the path you choose things change a lot, so I don't think it's a CON, but I'm only stating for the sake of review.
- Voiced lines are nice, and kind of well-done, but there are minor problems, like some sentences (which happened to me only a couple of times) being half-voiced, or needing to change volume a lot because of voiced lines sometimes being a bit loud, especially moans, little bit better volume balancing could be better because you upping volume for hearing pretty silent talking, then seconds later it goes kind of loud, and you need to volume down, and this kind of happens a lot.
- Some scenes lack images to show what's happening, like when the MC is eating soup or bread you see text along with png soup, and bread images on the screen, you are not seeing the MC actually eating them, and in the massage scene when MC was massaging the front, her stomach, etc, the scene didn't change, and we still kept seeing he massaging the back of Arvenia until sex scene choice comes, and MC starts touching her tits, and again in the same scene later text says ''she suddenly presses her lips against yours'' but saw nothing showing that happening, having more pictures or animations to show what's going on would be good.
- Sex scene animations are decent, but they can use some improvements, especially better physics, and more attractive angle/position choices, for example, the massage scene has some really hot angles/positions, but the vaginal sex positions/angles we had were inferior to that scene, which is bit disappointing.
- The mouse cursor doesn't disappear when you hide the UI, and it does ruin some shots you take, it should disappear with the UI.
- Sometimes you have the opportunity to ask questions, and learn some stuff, but you can't ask all questions, and after asking only one question the game progresses, it's a bit annoying, can't see any reason for this to happen.
- There is a walkthrough mod for it, and it works well, but without the game feels a bit too much like flying without wings, ingame walkthrough might be a good idea.

VERDICT
Despite the CONS, this is still one of best adult games I have ever played, but I'm saying that, and will give 5 stars thinking this game can be so much more, with these CONS I would normally give 4 stars, but I do believe developer will improve the game with later updates, especially sex scene animations, and lacking images problem should be fixed ASAP, and hope it will. Anyway, I would suggest anyone play this game, and considering everything we learn about Arvenia, how she was alone for all those years, etc, the developer really needs to write an ending where MC turns into an immortal being like her, so they can be together without the worry of one day MC dying, and she is all alone again.

Best VN I have played to date. a lot of love and care went into this project and it shows, there are very few games on the website that are at this quality of production. PixieWillow kills it as Arvenia and breaths so much life into the character, I'd go as far to say that Her Last Piece has better voice direction than some major published VN's. The Story and Art are just as good, the story is gripping from the get go and has a great balance between is story driven and lewd scenes. all in all would extremely recommend trying out this game, the devs just announced they are able to finish Act 3 so we have that to look forward to in the near future.
