is update dead
No, it's just that porn game devs literally never match their initial time target or deadlines.

Nitrolith never gave a hard deadline for "early august" which was when he guessed he'd release, thus everyone and their mom and dog knew it would never release then.

It's just life, really. Like a law of physics, a part of nature, it's like gravity or the flow of time.

Is there a guide for this game? Or is it normal to just change versions, because I can't seem to do anything else right now.

I wouldn't be too anxious about updates guys.
When someone is a solo-dev, give them 1-3 months around the update time period they stated.

You can be stricter against a team but indie devs have it a lot tougher since all content is done by them.

that's not true, there are some devs that always match their deadlines. Nitrolith just isn't one of them. Probably because of shitty community.

Like, do you think if summertimesaga community wasn't a bunch of retards that the game would be taking a year to release the update? No, dev is taking that long because he has them all wrapped around his finger.

In same way blizzard games are shit and monetized to the extreme, it's because people in blizzard community don't have any self-respect lmao.

Like, when some patreon porn devs slips even a tiny bit and release late their patrons immediately cancel pledges and dont take shit. I've seen it. But then when some other porn dev milks the update for 4 months other patrons just pat him on the back.

In short - it's all about people. Some devs are lucky and build around themselves a community comprised of idiots and some devs just don't have any luck in that regard.

Well, there is also "moderation". You have devs that literally ban every voice of discontent or criticism. If you ban all of them and just leave out the fools then pack mentality kicks in. In general people are more inclined towards maintaining harmony, so if everybody is happy(because everyone who was unhappy got banned) and then you have one guy come out and criticise something sharply they will get bashed by everybody in the community. They will appear as the person who just came out of nowhere and with their dirty boots tried to step on something they like. There is a reason why all facists and communists resort to censorship. Because it actually works. But everything has a boiling point. But by that time they will have already milked thousands of dollars :)

Like I said on Patreon and Discord. This update probably has twice as much content as usual, the only reason it wasn't split into 2 updates it's because it forms one cohesive story. It's very easy to release a few scenes every month but I prefer if every update has some sort of climax or payoff. It's a lot more effort and less consistent but I think it's a better experience.
For this update it's important to put as many scenarios as possible since it's the last Ceci update where Erin is oblivious of Mars/Ceci.
I like to put impossible deadlines for my own sake, as pressure = getting better quickly. It's how my art managed to improve rather fast. Twice the amount of content in the same usual timespan is impossible no matter how you cut it.

No need to shit on groups of people without understanding context and this thread isn't the right place to gossip about other devs work ethic anyways.

So... I understand correctly that in the next updates there will be no ntr-content with Cecil? If it is really so then it's sad...

Jesus, lads, stop whining. Let the man cook.

We're lucky enough to have a Dev that cares about the project enough to deliver bangers every update. Nitro take all the time you need. The backers understand and support you. Also also, please more Erin content :3

You don't seem to have understood what I wrote. My reply wasn't targeted at you in particular but it was addressing the point claiming that all devs don't meet deadlines, which is false. It was spoken generally and not targeted at anybody in particular. Well except for Blizzard, cookie and other villains I guess, are you trying to defend them by any chance?

But yeah, judging from your reply, I bet if I had written that in your Discord, I would have been banned lol, lmao even. In the same way if I came to Blizzard's Discord and wrote about dark patterns in their games I'd be immediately silenced. I honestly don't know much about you, I haven't even been following the game all that much but just because you don't meet your deadlines it doesn't mean everybody else is like you.

" No need to shit on groups of people without understanding context and this thread isn't the right place to gossip about other devs work ethic anyways. "

What additional context is there in relation to what I wrote? There was a deadline. The deadline wasn't met. Somebody commented that nobody meets deadlines in this space. I addressed that.

TL;DR There are people who meet deadlines and there are those who don't. If they don't that's not necessarily their own fault, PLAYERS get what they deserve.
