Ren'Py - Hero Party Must Fall [v0.5.5 Bugfix 1] [Nitrolith]

I had originally given this 5 stars in light of its brilliant writing.

However it's been many patches since then. The author desperately wants to move on to a new work and the writing in this game makes it obivous. The characters with somewhat plausible depth are now caricatures of themselves, the parody has been played straight.

I feel like this is going to be the one score I actually regret. This game is actually quite good, however it suffers from issues that just tank it. For one it is missing a fundamental aspect it's gameplay, the dungeon does not actually exist. And honestly this reminds me a quote about game development "focus on your primary gameplay loop" and another point though this one is my own; anything else should feed back into the primary loop. So what is the primary loop? Idk, seems like it should be corrupting the girls but if so the dungeon has no reason to exist as I can't see how it would feed back into corrupting the girls, if it's dungeon crawling then since it doesn't exist it fails outright. Next is what finally made me quit; Cecille's virginity loss scene and that's because I didn't actually earn it, right before I got it I played her training with no changes from the first curse break. Didn't even get a new bar and the game has a set up for her curse reemerging but I didn't get it and frankly I don't have a clue as to why. If this exists out of order because several updates came with no sex then that's foolish on the dev's part. He has an option, just let us fuck Vi in a repeatable scene or two, it's still terrible but better than having something just appear out of nowhere with references to shit that didn't happen. As a final point, I don't think ren'py is the right engine for this game, I know ren'py is great for how easy it is but you need to think beyond that. Especially when you're trying to do more than be a VN, I know it gets hate but rpgmaker would be better because at least the dungeon could actually exist and it is no worse than ren'py. This could be a fantastic game but I think it has too many issues holding it back for me to recommend it currently.
Edit: The issues such as crashes I experienced were caused by the name change mod, I did not think it would cause such issues and have adjusted the review accordingly.

Very good. I like the art and a fair bit of the writing. I do think certain parts are kind of drawn out, but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker for me. The dungeon stuff doesn't interface well with the rest of the game and I don't really think the fighting is worthwhile or interesting. It might have been better to play it as a turn based thing that gates certain content (but gives you the option to skip).

I would be up for impregnation content with the girls and sissification content with the hero. It feels like it's heading that way and I'm up for it.

A lovingly made game, it teeters that edge between pornography and novel perfectly.

Granted, it may not be to everyone's taste, but as a person that enjoys these genres, this is probably one of the best experiences you can find!

The game has a charming artistic look, one which truly excels in the most intense of scenes. Unfortunately, in the more generic settings, the look can appear simple, close to a decent artist drawing on MS Paint. However, it happens so sparingly that it can be easily ignored

But speaking of intense, sexual scenes, this game has them in spades and lovingly made. The build up is done wonderfully, and even the starting, more simple acts are incredibly hot to watch.

The characters are written incredibly well. Their interactions with each other are so genuine, it sometimes feels surreal that it was written by the same person. The dialogue is witty, charming, and full of personality, each proper to the characters they are representing. The MC suffers no loss either, a fully-fledged character with their hopes and dreams, and regrets and pains. A fantastic troupe of characters that I can't wait to see how the story resolves.

The story itself may start of as a rather generic premise (cuck the hero), but it quickly becomes a complex web of stories revolving around the cast. Their relationship with the main character and each other, and their place in the greater world.

Truly a great game, worth all the praise it gets!

Too unrealistic. Almost every character has excellent dialogue. Too many wise people.

I didin't know if I was reading a masterpiece or playing a porn game.

In real life most people would't be this elocuent and would say some stupid things.

But characters in the game are perceptive, witty, know how to laugh aboit themselves, can take criticism. They are carismatic and wise. There are some more flawes characters but they are still more mature than most people.

So, I believe this game lacks stupid people and stupid comments to be realistic. Right now it's a masterpiece of wise and carismatic characters with good porn.

First game I'm playing with "playing bad guy" route that I really enjoy. It uses 'curse of lust' and 'heroes must remain pure' plot devices instead of overused 'rape her till she loves you'. This gives very smooth flow and also enables a lot of dynamic between characters. Characters are designed well, behind typical trope "mother like - priestess" and "tough fighter" are backstories and personal problems. On top of it there are a lot of CGs and animations (of varied quality if you ask me, but I enjoyed most of them). I really enjoy deconstructing pure hero trope and stealing his harem bit by bit.

My only problem is how weak Hero is. He is the only human capable to destroy demon lord and, of course, he is "may sue" spineless weakling that somehow gets what he wants but, ffs, sometimes writer bashes him too much, just leave it be with his flaccid penis.

Incredible. If you're a fan of netori (getting other women to cheat on their partners WITH you), this is the game for you.

-The art style may seem unappealing at first glance, but it grows on you very quickly.
-The characters each possess their own personalities and quirks, and it's wonderful to see them get corrupted/changed over time.
-The game is currently linear. The grind doesn't seem too bad (although there is a bit, early on), but the most recent updates are basically all story content. You can currently skip the 'dungeon' stuff, which I did, because I don't really feel it adds anything to what I want to get out of the game.

My only criticism is that there isn't more yet.

Not only is the art in this game excellent, the writing and the story are insanely good which is very rare on this website. I also like the bit of freedom u have in the training section, it's refreshing to see. The dev seems to have a fixed schedule and is bringing updates every 2 months, which is a discipline I have never seen of an H-game dev ever.

The only sad thing is that I can't give more than 5 stars. This is one of the only devs who truly deserve all the support they can get.

Excellent story, for once in a ntr story the mc is the "bad guy" and he is actually likeable. the female characters aren't shallow and have actual depth. The creator is very active on discord, implying he will less likely drop this excellent game—definitely a game to try.

Amazing writing, one of the best games that I have had the pleasure to play. I genuinely care for every character. I really hope this game never gets dropped. It have a few bugs but nothing important.

Best writing I've experienced in a hentai game. To the point that I genuinely care for every character, and I am really looking forward to how it develops. Absolutely would break my heart if this game ever gets dropped.

Certainly didn't expect an actual plot on this one. MC reminds me of characters from other VN. The latest release left at a cliffhanger too! I like how the MC is slowly being fleshed out using his past on present dialogue rather than lazy flashbacks revealing things.

Game has all the tags I love. It's still in development so more features are prolly gonna be released. But I think the best part of this game's the story and the writing.

Great writing. Dialogue is interesting and realistic, characters are full of personality.

While there are some obvious tropes like it being a harem anime where everyone wants to fuck you, it makes up for it with unique art, interactive sex scenes, and pretty good character writing.

Absolutely incredible, the artwork is beautiful, the storyline is engaging and engrossing. Exploring a facet of porn games that is rarely seen, and I wish there was much more of.

It's just too damn good, the only con is that I wish there was more of it now. There is actually an enormous amount of content even now. Legitimately hours, but I drank it down and definitely want more! It's just too darn good!

Absolutely incredible. If you're into moral corruption and netori/cheating this game is a must play.

The story itself isn't anything orginal, but its paced and written very well. Its a slow burner but the payoff is always well worth it, and keeps you coming for more. The art and animation is really well done, I know its probably not for everyone, but its still top notch for what it is.

+ I like how the creator takes the development of the story, because it is slow you can see the change of personality of the girls and see how they fall under your hands.

+ Instead of feeling bad for the cuckold you will want to make him suffer.

+ Risky situations and all the fetishes featured so far are great.

- There is not much dialogue when you try to talk to the characters in the day.

- The dungeon minigame is not necessary (It's annoying and that's why I never played it).

What I would like to see added: I would like to see risky situations with Sera and more fetishes, (especially towards the hero's mom).

All netori fans should play this game.

a well-written slow-burner. you´ll enjoy the characters, and how they are bouncing off on each other, even when it's not a ready game yet. they are all memorable.

usually, i skip most of the reading on slow-burners... for some reason, i didn't on this one, it's rare occasions when I get a feeling that i shouldn't.

it's one of those games that you enjoy reading, but you will only play once, too. it's like a book.

however, the gameplay portion is not ready yet, as expected from a game that is not yet ready.
i am not even sure should this game have a repeating minigame like that.

Clicked for about 5 minutes as fast as I could. Not one single choice. This should not be in the games category. Wouldn't even call it an interactive comic. Music. A few images. A bunch of unintriguing text. Absolutely no personal agency. Maybe a "game" portion happens eventually, but with line after line of boring writing, I don't see a reason to click for another 10 minutes to get to it. With an intro this tedious, there's no excitement to see where it goes.

I read everything from complicated 1000+ page novels to comic books. So this isn't due to just a short attention span. It's just a bore. Any good writing needs to hook the reader from the beginning. And any good game should have some immediate intriguing choices to draw the player in.

The writing is top notch, the animations are top notch, i truly recommended. If you can, support the developers. Looking forward to new updates. one of the best writings i ever read in a game of this kind. And the game is actually netori not netorare. so if you don't like ntr, feel safe to try this one.
