mars got dark? anyone has examples? he looks to me as dark as he was day one. I have not seen the newest updates though. I stopped playing around the point where you get diverging endings. like turning the hero into a woman.

nah, he is . Some1 said above and he is right, search on pornhub gameplay with the old build, He was grey;ish then got darker and now full black, its a clear diference, but again idc that much but is a bit wierd, maybe the guys who pay him on patreon are into that and he change but he is saing is beccouse of alot of filters he is using but idk.

I check this thread regularly, and it seems like there are always the same complaints about the game, which is fair! It must be quite hard to please everyone and their fetishes. You can make a game where the aim is to corrupt the main hero and his party as the evil antagonist and you still get people who want the total opposite of it.

Anyway, there is the 'Mars is now black!' discourse.

There is the 'Why is it so homosexual now?' one.

Finally, there is the 'It's AI now!' discourse.

I believe the real issue stems from images such as these:

In these CG's, not only is the skin colour noticeably darker, it is also comically large, which is the reason why this discourse is had almost every update. I don't want to add to this discourse or share an opinion, I just wanted to point out that the darker skin colour is present in some CG's, not all.

Secondly, the 'Everything is gay now' discourse. Erin getting cucked and aroused by both Cecille and Mars, and the player experiencing that scene from his point of view was quite early in the game, so some semblance of gayness was always present. On top of that, Erin is one of 4 choices to pursue. You have 3 women, then you have 1 man which isn't even really a man but whatever. I believe Nitrolith tapped into a less explored area with this one, which was a novel approach to the whole thing. I believe the reason why Erin's story works so well is because his character flaws are present very early in the story and you clearly see why his actions and behaviours would lead to his demise. But even then, the player has the option of either gender-bending Erin or removing him completely. For it to be all gay, there should be no choice. There is also the fact that even a sissified Erin looks very feminine and the homosexual part is occasionally hidden. Here is an example:

There is obviously gay sex here, but there also is the effort to make it look like Erin has a vagina of sorts as well. At this point in the story, could Erin even be considered male? He displays every behaviour typically attributed to the female gender. I understand why to some it is unattractive, once again I just wanted to show the examples, not to add input.

Lastly, the AI art thing. Nitro themselves have said they used AI, but there are 2 distinct ways of using AI. You either use it as a crutch or a tool. This is the area I would like to add input, as I believe Nitro uses it as a tool, not a crutch. Nitro's shading has progressed considerably, which gives his drawings a more complex glow. Check this old CG for instance:

Honestly I don't care if Erin is gay, since, well I am gay.

Also, that image with Cecille is not the first CG, it is a scene with Vi not only that there's a Image of Sera.

Besides those images pretty much prove my point.

Nitrolith can use AI if it makes his life easier, but my gripe with it was the inconsistencies and the contradictory nature of his explanations.

He claims that the filter affects the tone of the characters but it seems only Mars suffers from it.

My memory is pretty spotty but I remember a post somewhere saying he used AI and I have eyes as well when I played some of the later builds so I do believe you when it comes to AI, but never doubt the power of screenshots again.



When I first noticed the Ai I thought they were just placeholders so I didn't have an issue with it unless it was the actual final drawing. Don't know what the word is now or whether thats actually true or not (being placeholders), I just pop in every now and then onto the thread until they let me make Erin a woman after slightly pissing me off when they turned a belly-dancing princess into a damn twink (I did admittingly flashbang myself since i just skip dialogue and go straight to the scenes.)

For the blacked stuff I just write it off as the Gyaru-oh aesthetic for Mars with a darker tan, I think it is easy correct the skin color with AI prompts and I think I recall him being darker than the first screenshots in this thread regardless of lighting (but then again, I haven't played it in a while so its probably the mandela effect). Don't care much about the skin color of the dude regardless, but unless there are messages, the girls get an ace of spades tattoo, or something more concrete I can't fully believe you on this other than Nitro using a different color for some scenes for some reason or just forgetting/being too lazy to edit prompts.

Other than that, I do think it is kinda weird Nitro hasn't updated the Itch page for almost 2 years. Think the bigger issue is just the reliance on AI when the original art style (and most human-made art in general imo) was far better, and also how I've been waiting almost 2 years to not skip out on content unless I want to watch 2 men kissing.
I visited the discord this morning, to see if I could find that quote that the admins deleted, and I found things that were interesting.

Some dude by the name StarWanderer read my post, called me schizo and tried to provide a solution to the problems i talked about, by posting it on the Ideas chat.

I felt the conversation was really manipulative by the side of the discord members and from what i seen they are speaking in behalf of Nitrolith, he is 'active" by the way, but honestly it a very small active, he only posts things rarely or when providing a update to the game.

I will defend the discord group on one case, since i believe the guy was trying to troll, considering that he had that leaf that signals him as newly arrived member.

But nothing from that conversation justifies the bodypilling and disproportionate response.

He said that he would share the images of the conversation, but so far he hasn't shown anything so, I give some more hours and if he doesn't I take the screenshots myself.

If you don't want to wait that long go to Nitrolith discord to see what I am talking about.

They pretty much admitted that they were using racial slurs as images, and I seen some images talking about blacked and bbc and spades stuff, I didn't really find that image with Vi using a confederate flag.

Also about the screen, I considered it, but the images were small so even zooming in would not reveal the text, you would need to click the actual image to see the conversation, so that was pointless.

Though I didn't expect that the admins would be scummy enough to delete actual proof, I know they have their own personal agendas but damn.

Didn't even provide a reason as to why, just said it was a Clean Up.

People are reading way too much in the graphics inconsistencies. This game has always been an incongruent mess, and nitro himself have always admitted it.

Some of it were natural, the visuals evolved as nitro evolved his drawing quality and style.
Other were actually done on purpose. Mars' skin has always been darker with Cecille and lighter with Sera in order to increase the skin contrast and avoid a graphical mess.

It's worth pointing out that Mars was never supposed to have grey skin. His appearance is based on the "tanned japanese surfer" trope, a classic in ntr doujinshi. I believe nitro was stuck in the usual dilemma of fixing the previous mistake or sticking with it to the end, which is very relatable if you've ever done a crazy long project like this one.

But if you watch the overall picture you'll realize it's not just Mars' skin that's inconsistent, there're major inconsistencies everywhere.

People in this thread used to complain about Cecille's eyebrows color. She used to have blonde eyebrows, but lately she has darker/black eyebrows. Even that raised some conspiracy theories lol.

Sera's muscles change all the time. There are picture where she's ripped af and other where she's all kawaii with no definition at all. And btw her skin tone changes all the time yet nobody talks about it.


Regarding AI, nitro said he tried using it in the past but wasn't happy with the result. There are AI image detection tools online, I tried using a few on some images and they generally say the images are human made (this tools are dodgy af and wouldn't trust their result anyway). Nitro offered to pass the image source file on discord to whoever wanted to check it and their hundreds of layers (AI creates a single blob without any layer), so if you're interested in checking try asking for it.

People are reading way too much in the graphics inconsistencies. This game has always been an incongruent mess, and nitro himself have always admitted it.

Some of it were natural, the visuals evolved as nitro evolved his drawing quality and style.
Other were actually done on purpose. Mars' skin has always been darker with Cecille and lighter with Sera in order to increase the skin contrast and avoid a graphical mess.

It's worth pointing out that Mars was never supposed to have grey skin. His appearance is based on the "tanned japanese surfer" trope, a classic in ntr doujinshi. I believe nitro was stuck in the usual dilemma of fixing the previous mistake or sticking with it to the end, which is very relatable if you've ever done a crazy long project like this one.

But if you watch the overall picture you'll realize it's not just Mars' skin that's inconsistent, there're major inconsistencies everywhere.

People in this thread used to complain about Cecille's eyebrows color. She used to have blonde eyebrows, but lately she has darker/black eyebrows. Even that raised some conspiracy theories lol.

Sera's muscles change all the time. There are picture where she's ripped af and other where she's all kawaii with no definition at all. And btw her skin tone changes all the time yet nobody talks about it.


Regarding AI, nitro said he tried using it in the past but wasn't happy with the result. There are AI image detection tools online, I tried using a few on some images and they generally say the images are human made (this tools are dodgy af and wouldn't trust their result anyway). Nitro offered to pass the image source file on discord to whoever wanted to check it and their hundreds of layers (AI creates a single blob without any layer), so if you're interested in checking try asking for it.

to be honest to me this looks like a mixture of lightning and artist progression, his style is obliviously not the same as he had begun, so changes are obviously happening. but to me he getting a more "natural" skin color is better than the grayish alien skin one he had. if you are the kind of person that complains about those tone shifts you have some SERIOUS mental problems.

to me in my mind mars was always presented as a dark skinned person. nor a full black. and in the darkest pictures presented a few post ago. to me still he looks dark skinned but not full black. he still looks lighter in daylight scenes and darker in night scenes.

in short, stop with the riceism.

as for the AI thing, if he is training his own AI with his art I see no problem with that. this can bring some undesired results but the artist is the final hand that approve the drawing that is being made. if the dick looks larger of the characters look weird in a way, remember that the artist in the end was the one that made the choice to approve it.

I would lie about AI usage in order to prevent some bitching. if i was not such a detrimentally honest man. so i understand why he would deny the claims.

like I said I do not care. it still looks good, it is still made by the author. that is enough for me.
