Felicia was in love with Spider-Man, not Peter, while Mary Jane was in love with Peter, so he chose MJ. In short, he's an idiot with fucking awful writers.
The real love of his life was always Gwen Stacy, but once again the shit writers fucked him over and killed her off while Stan Lee was out of the country and by the time he got back it was too late.
