if we go by your logic, the game has always been shit, from the beginningAstral Lust went to shit and died
Not just that it's really irritating even more than when a main character sides it power without any reason, i can understand if mc hides his power for some reason like it might caught the attention of other powerful villains. Those games where the dev creates a super-powerful main character but then uses some random obstacle as an excuse to nerf them are incredibly lazy.
If you’ve made an overpowered character, stick with it. Let them crush everyone with ease. Let them humiliate their opponents.
If you want to tell a story where the character gradually becomes powerful, don’t make them overpowered in the first place and then nerf them later — it just doesn’t make sense.
Exactly. Not just that it's really irritating even more than when a main character sides it power without any reason, i can understand if mc hides his power for some reason like it might caught the attention of other powerful villains.
But just because he was too op and u decided to nerf is really stupid, these are mostly manga/anime concept.
"I have SSS rank skill and I'm 99999999999lvl sage but decided to hide my power so that the author can drag the story".
"I'm an overpowered monarch reincarnated in small weak body of high school boy who's being bullied in school" and what not.
Creating a op mc isn't boring it's just talent issue.Exactly.
I think the devs believe a game where the main character is too OP might be boring — which I disagree with. I think it would be really cool to feel like your character is the guy (or girl) and not just another random person in the world.
But if the dev thinks it might get boring, there are ways around that. One way would be to create a villain with the same power potential as the MC and make them the MC’s Achilles’ heel, making fights with them more unpredictable.
I think creating a very OP MC and then nerfing them just to avoid unbalanced confrontations is a lazy approach — but whatever..
