Hi everyone! Let's be friends!

I'd like to make games using Unity. Do you think it's okay to create a development thread right after the start of making a game? Even if there's less than a minute of gameplay. In theory, that way I can get feedback on what to improve as early as possible. I don't know what's the common practice of it.

Second, why devs make their own Discord servers? What's the purpose of it?

Thanks!

First one, I'd say the best time is when you have the "base" of the game. Art style, gameplay systems, a few of the main characters. Stuff like that.

Second one, Discord is basically a high-speed forum. You can get valuable feedback much faster than a place like this. Not only that, you can build a community, notify people of updates or plans, have channels just to joke around, etc.
