My favorite game, "My Sweet Neighbors", as far as I know, uses V4 models (not even Genesis 3 or 8, but the generation before) and 720p pics. Still the hottest shit I've ever played, even more so than any killer G8 renders in 4K where each update gets 500 pics.
A very well edited and modified V4 DAZ model can create better and hotter results than a stock G8 boring ass default model where you can tell that the dev just bought / downloaded something and didn't touch it, except for the "silicone breasts" slider. The daughter from DMD and Elena from the same game are heavily edited G3 models as well and they're hotter than most G8 stuff out there.
So I'd totally say: If you don't have to rig for G3 or G8, go V4, put a lot of love and attention into your models and you'll get my support and eventually, my pledge. I'd rather have "more simple" but a higher number of renders. It's rare to see devs who have rigs that can really do 400 pic G8 render updates. I'm sure those who do, at least a part of them, use external render farms paid for by their successful Patreon pages. Most G8 users give us updates with below 100 pics.
Still hoping for more games on the level of My Sweet Neighbors. I'm waiting... xD
