Forgot two points yesterday concerning missing scenes and it would be nice if they could be filled in a future rewrite:

- After Charlotte's screw up with the open door MC says that they really have to amp up outdoor security and he will have to carry his pistol. Even though Charlotte shot that down previously. That incident was the first time any of these things were mentioned. So it would be nice that we could get an earlier dialogue in which MC suggests that and Char actually refuses both.

I think there are few things that have been glanced over, conversations that happened that we never saw... Like the carry the pistol, up security the first time, go into college with Emma, etc that have supposedly happened that we never saw.

Let's also never forget the GOAT (Acting Lessons), which had a goddamn protagonist death but also lots of juicy scenes haha.

Now about Hillside, the vibe is completely different to any other game here, even Lexi. I mean, you kinda get under MC's skin and the heavy drama feels very slice-of-life-wise. You get the anger, frustration and, probably the many other things to come eventually...

It is a little slow-paced indeed, but there's a very good reason for it

Never have and never will play that game because of that.

I can foresee some strong emotions coming out of me if this continues they way it does. I already want the MC to start preparing holes in the ground for those two assholes who assaulted Charlie.

0.6 already has some hints about Charlotte liking the MC like something more than a bodyguard. Read her thoughs the morning after. She's still cofused because she hates men in general but if the MC does something, like btfo of some dude to protect her in the next update that can change things faster.

Just no, BaDIK has a great story and it's one of the most popular games around. You can't fuck everyone in BaDIK but you can have sex with many of the girls.
Having a strong plot doesn't mean no sex until the end.
Talking about Hillside Emma and Charlotte should take more time to bang because how they are, but Lucy, Suzi and others don't have to be that hard to crack.

I didn't say those games were exactly like Hillside, I was saying sex content and a heavy story aren't mutually exclusive, you can have both. There are dozens of ways to introduce sex scenes in this game.
City of Broken Dreamers is about a merc trying to protect a girl, and yes, the dude has time to fuck several women in the process.

Here are a few reasons I support DarkBlue on Patreon and will continue to do so. While I really love the story so far and it's pacing, I think he's also an outstanding 3D artist. IMO, the posing and lighting in the renders are exceptional. They really convey the atmosphere and emotion in each scene. These are from the latest update, V0.6.

Unfortunately many people on this site are kind of jarred when VN's such as Hillside and others of course try to take realistic approaches to situations. Many people complaining like the MC has earned her trust for not perving on Emma for the first 2 weeks. Like he's done the bare minimum and should be rewarded?

I am highly critical of DPC for several reasons. I get facepalms from his fanboys but truthfully he is not a great writer overall. He does do the wingman/best buddy thing very well. He totally shit the bed on Acting Lessons. He has 10x the followers or more for BaDIK and has hinted at some sort of darkness with the scene in the library of a cut to dark and the MC saying had he known he would have run screaming for help (from Bella). If he truly can not stay away from his Acting Lesson abortion type writing, and brings it into his current title, I agree with you totally.

Hillside is dark. It deals with some dark topics. I think it is building a great story. It is genuinely interesting to see how the PTSD of the assaults Charlotte has suffered color her entire approach to things. This is being handled extremely well. Lucy, extremely well. Emma, same. The MC can be a darker figure that is still a good guy, and that is how I am playing it, no creeping. Professional, but caring. THAT is a good story. So many games or novels have us peeping at women in showers, jerking off on their sleeping bodies and other truly weird shit. This story has some goodness about it, if that can be said of an adult visual novel. lol.

The Dev should be able to tell his/her own story without someone comparing it to games that's a false equivalency. Some of you forget that it's only been 6 updates, should the Devs just add a bunch of random pointless sex scenes to please you? That would be disingenuous and go against the grain.

I am not thinking that the dev needs to take any orders or even suggestions to change their story. I do think there is always room for improvement, and commercially there will have to be some more of the excellent images and animations, to Sell It to the general population of AVN hobbyists. The writing is great. Comparing the writing to stories that do not have that same level of quality prose is fine, regardless of whether they are similar or not. Be they the far over used college trope or harem game or incest with creepy kid men screwing their family or whatever. Adult Visual Novels are just that. I see many of the same names on a wide variety of these forums so discussing cross game pros and cons is entirely justified.

Games that are venturing to the path less trodden are by default of a higher quality for folks who are bored with yet another creeping kid man or a mind controller or whatever. Heavy Five, City of Broken Dreamers, Depraved Awakening, Life Happened, Leap of Faith, or even the young incest driven kid from Timestamps is at least a different take and therefore going to have an audience that is perhaps a little more discerning about the actual story and setting. Fap-fests are great for a while, but like a lot of porn, they get old. True there are hard core die hard fans of things like WVM and BADIK, MILFY City and others. And that is fantastic. Does not mean we can not compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of those titles with Hillside.

As I have said already, DPC does fantastic visuals, but his story telling is far below his mentor PhillyGames, and below the crew of Hillside.

The MC/Lucy kissing scene is animated and one of the best I've ever seen in these games. It takes skill to do it right without clipping.

And lastly, Charlotte kissing Emma. Some thought went in to the posing as Emma closes her eye because Charlotte is so close.
Also, the photos in Emma's hand are the renders used in the photo shoot. That's real attention to detail.
