I come from a pretty cold country, so I know a lot about the cold. And if you haven't noticed, there are snowstorms in all the photos. Which implies a fairly strong wind. But this fact does not spoil the mood of the girls.
Seriously, are you really trying to start an argument here about a bunch of CG images and how cold there might be?
If you are trying to hint that I don't know what cold is, then -34°C or a bit colder was here about 20 years ago. -37°C was 200km off the coast at the time. That was the record for the 21st century, but not the coldest ever recorded.
Around -30° for a week in February is not uncommon and -25°C can be considered totally normal for the same time period.
While it's not like -50 or -60 as in Siberia, the humidity level here is high and it feels much colder. So I think I know a bit about cold weather. Not as much as the people in Lapland or Alaska, but enough.
And to step outside wearing only shorts in such weather for a couple of minutes when there is no strong wind is nothing shocking, painful or intolerable. Happens often enough when there is something to do outside for a moment or look at the weather, stars or northern lights or something else.
Not to mention stepping out of a hot sauna to cool down. But that's a totally different matter, being over heated at the time. This is not what I was talking about.
And this is definitely not how a snow
s t o r m looks like on a photo. This is how calmly and slowly falling snow flakes look like. Also, none of the santa hats seem to be affected by any kind of wind. So I would estimate
by the visible clues on these pictures, would they be real photos of real weather, the wind speed could be around 0-2 m/s. Considering the size of these snow flakes, the temperature could be between -5 and +5°C. Would it be colder, the flakes would be small, a little warmer and it would more likely be raining.
Could we now stop this nonsense?
As for the Titanic. Cameron didn't pay attention to the temperature of the water filling the ship at all. Therefore, the characters swim in the icy water for half an hour and feel great.
True. What's your point here? This is what I said, cold water kills and fast, unlike cold air. Air takes way more time to get dangerous or even seriously uncomfortable.
I never mentioned the movie or Cameron or even Titanic. You did. I was only talking about human beings in freezing water in general.
Were you also on the ledge outside window as she explains to her husband that, yes, she's been alone in the room for the past hour and why is he so suspicious?
