Boruto did him very dirty, and this is the result.

Whilst in his own show, Naruto is shown to greatly value personal connections, and longed for a family. In Boruto— he is an absent father, too busy with his work to care, or to have the energy for anything else, even his own family.

They're completely different characters, which some use to justify Hinata's love subsiding, as she fell in love with Naruto, not Boruto's dad.

It doesn't help that the reason for this change is pretty poor. The Hokage position was never this time-demanding before, it is only now to justify the narrative. Peacetime leadership can be more time-demanding, but Naruto would've found a way.
