They don't even have a Patreon account. In this case it's that the author fears Subscribestar might start enforcing their rules and that they believe Steam might at some point adopt Patreon-like rules regarding incest.
Which, from what I read, would still put this game in danger of removal, as Patreon doesn't penalize only actual incest, but anything where the characters are in a familial relationship. So even if they're raised similar to how siblings would while not related in any way, they'd still fall afoul of Patreon's rules. See e.g. the character changes of BreakTheBar's "Seat of Fertility" story over on literotica.

Noticed I got the name of the story wrong - it's "Font of Fertility".

Originally the MC was in a relationship with his girlfriend, his older sister and his girlfriend's older sister (with everyone in MC's harem sleeping with each other).

this was changed so the GF and her sister were then step-sisters by marriage, and the MC's sister turned into his godsister, who his parents took in when her parents died earlier.

Since this was obviously not enough for Patreon, it was further changed in

, where the GF's sister is now just a former neighbor of the gf, while the MC's sister is now only a family friend.

The author apparently also didn't consider enough on how it would change the story - e.g. the GF's sister had a bad reputation in school, and in chapter 34 the GF now faced some repercussions because of her last name - which should be different as they're not even related anymore.

Did you try looking through the Latest Updates page? If you filter for RenPy games with the real porn tag, there's only ~150 results. If you add incest, that's down to 34, although if it's not on this list anymore it may no longer have that tag.
If you remember further details that have a corresponding tag, you might be able to trim the results down more.

Nah... stepcest sucks and isn't really incest to begin with. It only exist in those games because some devs are stupid enough to think they can circumvent Patreon TOS with it.

I mean I agree with you it's not really true incest but beyond that I don't. As Long as the dynamic in the relationship is the same it's just as good as the real thing for me. Plus it can be seen as taboo by some if you lived with them your entire life and not just a year or 2. So it can have same incest element to it for me just depends on how it's done / executed.

Badly in most games.
As I said they only do it because they think they can circumvent a Patreon ban by using it. If payment processors hadn't cracked down on incest most games in that genre would have proper incest. Incest patches would also be rarity and not common.
Now those patches exist to either add incest back or remove the step- that nobody likes.
