man can't make this shit up. Idk how some of you manage to navigate the internet at all, because clearly you can't read lol. Also, as a follow up to my previous post about the VR mode, did some additional testing with v0.19.0 and its sliiiightly less jank, but still pretty broken. Dont know if the devs read this thread like Adeptus Steve does for the wild life thread but i'll list some of the notable issues
1. there is a texture/lighting/normal/UV (idk which lol) issue with the girls face in VR mode. if you can manage to navigate the character selection menu and load a different character they do load in without blackface, but the opaque background for the dialog sticks. exiting to the menu and then loading back in makes them load correctly.
2. Menu and dialog issues. when doing the above navigating some of the menus while not impossible is nearly so. some UI elements load in what i assume is 2d mode, so as a result you only see the upper left quarter of the screen elements when looking at the desktop window, in VR you can only see the UI elements at the edges of the visible area in each eye, and not enough to be actually useful. you can interact with the visible UI elements in some instances using the arrow keys and enter, and the cursor is visible and you can click stuff but not consistantly.
3. I wasnt able to figure out if there is a way to get the UI to come back if you click the hide UI icon in the top right of the VR controls.
4. posession/first person view is broken in 2 ways. first thing, male POV the POV camera is fixed to the males head and moves along with the animations. this is bad practice for VR because its nausea inducing and just looks bad, either add some kind of modifier to dampen the movements or make it so the pov camera is a fixed point not tied to the character model. 2nd, female POV is broken entirely. toggling to it just makes her face and most of her head disappear but camera position doesnt change.
5. camera movement. the whole click and drag to move the camera thing is fine, but please add the ability to rotate/tilt the camera too. also there isnt much difference between the "free cam" setting and "cinematic cam" settings, afaik it just changes the point of rotation from around the focal point sphere to the camera?
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, fix that shit and i'd consider VR mode worth using, as it stands now its not even a good gimmick lol. for reference i'm using an HP Reverb G2, computer is windows 10 22h2 with a 5800x, 32gb ddr4-3600, and an rtx3080 and loading off an m.2 NVME ssd. performance in VR mode at the default render scale was 45-60fps iirc.
