So how do you actually update the game? Just install the files again or is there an easier way?

....hang on...just 5-7 days after the update for patreons someone will upload it...at least that was the way until nowadays.

A lot of the custom characters require you to download their mods. They will often times come with the custom assets needed. They can be acquired from the Home Together Discord, most seem to use Mega.nz.
Either way, you can just load any random character with a character card, but many require mods to function properly.

...I'm afraid nobody wants to upload a buggy update. On discord they wrote about a second hotfix v0.20.2. And maybe this is not the last one needed.
