Do you have to play VAM in VR? I haven't played it because it seems like you have to have a VR headset.

You don't need a vr headset but the last time I checked it was easier and better to use with a vr headset.

you can play without VR
turn on the desktop version and it is full-fledged, even more convenient than in VR! you can connect toys to the game, you can connect artificial intelligence to the game so that the girls behave like real girls)) but it is difficult to figure out in Vam, I advise you to study the hub - the game's website and search for all the questions that interest you! and when you get the hang of it, you will understand that this is truly a game for adults of a new level!

I did but it was a long time ago(atleast a year, probably). All I can remember is "playing" with a vr headset was easier and more convenient. I don't know about mods as I've barely used a few of them during my playtime.

New Patron release 0.33.0 is out. We need a hero!
This update expands the beach world with three new locations: the Bowling Center, Convenience Store, and Cinema. In the future, these locations will be used for the story mode we’re working on.
We also added new eyebrows, since the ones from the last update didn’t look too great. Let us know how you like them! If they still don’t replace our old ones, we’re considering bringing them back as an advanced mode creator feature.
-New casual clothing; T-shirt, Graphic t-shirt, Poloshirt, Polo, Button up shirt, Fitness Top, Pecoat, Slim Jeans, Jacket.
-New sex anim "superman"
-Grid selection with preview images for hair and eyebrows.
-New and smoother looking eyebrows.
