VN - Ren'Py - Hooked! [v0.4.5] [BlenderKnight]

Although drawing style is somewhat unusual, the game itself is great! I like a lot the way how well the characters and their interactions are developed and thought through.

Custom models and animation, lighthearted story, loveable characters, the game has it all. It just needs a bit more time for more content.
The others comments already said anything so i'm not gonna expand too much.
Just give it a try.

As a general rule I prefer melodramatic AVNs in most cases, because creating tension and emotion in a plot that has no meaningful drama is really difficult to pull off.
If you can't offer drama you basically need to outperform in two other categories: Humour and art.

Happy to say that Hooked does just that. I rate the novel as five stars because I wasn't bored during any point of my playthrough (version 0.3.5). As the bio says, everything is pretty lighthearted and the stakes are rather low. But the protagonist and the three LIs are all such lovable individuals. Even when they get naughty they are endearing, situations that would make other plots depraved and corrupted turn out alright and just erotic in this one.
The art is unique and the accuracy of facial expressions and body animations makes everything flow. Nothing feels wooden or artificial. The dialogue is chill and sprinkled with subtle comedy. And each love interest has a unique personality and low stakes boundaries that you may or may not cross, but it never feels out of context or degenerate. It's just lived sexuality you could say.

The MC is a man I find very appealing. He has the right level of human decency, shyness and kinkiness to be someone you want to spend time with. His portrayal also gives the vibe that he is someone you can rely on if you are in trouble. His goofiness only adds to his wholesome character. And you can feel that the LIs see exactly the same in him. The way they enable his sexual advances clearly shows that he is not threatening at all. He is a big, naughty teddy bear with a Big Rodney.

I'm not sure if there is any low stakes drama planned for this novel and there are some minor hints that something may or may not happen that the protagonists have to overcome. I would love it, to be quite honest, even if the stakes are low, some tension would enhance the experience.
But even if the developer decided that's just not the point here, I fully appreciate my time with Hooked and I'm glad I tried this out. You may think a plot situated in the porn industry had to be cliche - and you would be right to some extent - but you cannot help but root for Helen, Max and Hannah to succeed. And to lift each other up.

This game stands out, i love the models and the vibe. Dialogues well writen too. The characters are pretty well developed so far.

Also please, show more of Cassie in the next updates.

Awesome start, game! I'm updating my review after just finishing chapter 4, I am really looking forward to more of this.
I love the visual storytelling, the style is cool. the writing is great. It's pretty engaging, I keep wanting to see what happens next. And the characters and scenes are really sexy. As every girl gets more screen time I find myself more invested in each of them.

Nice work, this is one really stands out. I hope this becomes one of those rare projects that ends up completed! I am so happy to see this keeps getting updates!

The atmosphere and setting are so nostalgic. My heart hurts a little when I play this.

The art is fantastic. It's a unique art style which is very charming. You may have seen the screenshots. All the renders in game are similarly clean and nice looking. The cum is a little weird (not too weird, just a tiny bit).

And the girls are incredibly cute. Not only visually but through the writing and characterization as well. Actually, I like how the dudes are written as well. The dialogue is often funny and heartwarming, and sometimes a little sad.

Praying for this to get finished.

We played "Hooked!" together with my wife, amazing game for a first experience for her (first lewdgame + she's not a gamer), we'd a wonderful time. Can't wait for the next update.

A lovely, well-made, well-written game. It is beyond refreshing to see a 3DCG offering with an original art style. No characters that look like they were brought to life in the Women's Intimates department at an abandoned Sears; the cast are realistic enough to be sexy, but not so much that they slide into the Uncanny Valley. The backgrounds and GUI perfectly complement the models' aesthetic.

The writing is adorable. So many games feature characters who read like a single personality applied to different roles: quippy coworker who doesn't mind palling around with the guys, sister's quippy friend who doesn't mind palling around with the guys, quippy barista who doesn't mind palling around with the guys, ad nauseum. The characters here have personalities that don't distinguish themselves entirely by their circumstances. The dopey protagonist is a riot, and the comic relief nerd is present enough to provide levity while remaining appropriately unobtrusive for a porn game. There's some genuinely very funny material.

The sex scenes are likewise impressively written. Awkwardness and nervous energy can be huge turn-ons, and they're used quite effectively.

Nothing but promise so far. I'm excited to see where things go from here.

I played v 0.3.0

A masterpiece. Amazing writing. It's very humorous without being cringey. Incredible art, foregoing attempts at hyper-realism in favor of a consistent and pleasing aesthetic. The story and dialogue actually changes based on decisions made. The differences seem minimal so far, but it's a boon to the verisimilitude. The characters are distinct and well written. No complaints. I'm excited to see it has updated, and I'm eager to play more.

Fantastic game, I'm hooked! Love the art style and direction in particular, it's such a fantastic breath of fresh air compared to most games of its kind. I would also be remiss to not mention that the writing for the girls and their interactions is really well done.

The visual style of this game is so wonderfully unique. The story, while a bit schlocky, still has endearing characters. While I wish the game were 3d game (with such a style and characters) this is an amazing rendition of Ren'Py engine style game.

The first Ren'Py VN that has suprised me in a long while. Not with the story or the premise, but with the quality of it's presentation and 3D animations.

I usually avoid 3D games since I find them to be stilted but I'm glad I gave this one a chance.

I was firstly struck by the commitment to the aesthetic - delightful early Windows vibes, but luckily no Blue Screen of Death so far!

The cartoon style works really well and, most impressively, the erotic scenes are incredibly sexy, with great use of the cartoon form, framing and animation to make some seriously hot moments.

If you're fond of "seduction" situations where the MC is particularly naive, then this will be an extra bonus for you, as your character is rather unsure of himself and the premise of the plot (tenuously, sure) justifies his deflowerment.

So. Overall this is a great looking, well written, humorous game that is also pretty damn horny and has left me seriously eager for the next instalment.

This is seriously the best game that's in development. Soulgasm maybe gets close, but the characterization and writing for Hooked is just too damn clean. Each update has been massive. BK is knocking it out of the park.

Review for v0.3.2

After going through the current three chapters, one might say I'm now... hooked.

Anyway, yeah this game is pretty top tier. Relatively simple in concept, Hooked! is a game that just oozes charm. The overview describes it pretty well as "comedic, lighthearted, and goofy." Games like that, when done right, are some of my favorites. This is already pretty high up on that list.

You play as an awkward nerd who takes a chance on an ad looking for "male talent" and things just so happen to work out. The three girls are super cute, have fun personalities, and them plus the game overall just has a really nice vibe going for it. I seriously have nothing to complain about. It's hard not to enjoy a game like this provided you're into the initial concept.

The use of blender for the renders is, to me anyway, a huge draw. It's rare to see it done in visual novels, especially so stylized like this is. Gives the game such a fresh feel when you've played so many other visual novels. Plus the animations are amazing as well, which makes sense given the dev's background.

The one thing I can see bothering people is the MC, because yeah he's a socially awkward nerd and has dialogue to match. Sure there's a couple cringe lines, but personally I think he plays into the girls' personalities super well because of it. It's deliberate and works.

A rare gem. I'm really looking forward to playing this again when it gets some more updates.

Characters: As of now there's 3 main fmc's , all unique with different personalities, body shapes, and fashion (blue hair goth girl) (pink hair fashionista chic) and (black hair nerdy girl) personally i don't prefer the black chic but that could be just me, besides that, side characters are quite well written and leave an impression which is really good for a avn. 4/5

Music/BGM: its just there for the playing experience, i wouldn't say it's much impactful but it's better then nothing. At certain events it was even good, there's room for improvement. 3/5

Renders/designs: it's good to see a bit of different artstyle from all the same daz3d models being re-used/recycled in every avn. This designs are fresh and give you a new perspective. 4½/5

Storyline: you play as a guy who's a fisherman that happens to click an ad on a website and apply to become a male pornstar lead, you'll be trying to get hired and make videos/content with the girls and prove you're perfect for the job, spoiler you don't make a single video yet even after getting hired, but there's 3 blowjob scenes and 4 blowjob scenes in total if you replay different route)[ 4/5

Conclusion: This game is still in its early stages, there's less content and you can just finish it in 20-30 minutes if you're an average reader. But it's a really fresh and unique concept that makes it worth a play and support the dev for future updates. Overall i rate this game 7/10 just for the potential it has to grow.
