Thats fair, but I would say the same as others have; alex and mc aren't star-crossed lovers. They're minecraft characters, and steve is a lazy horny guy who wants to get his fuk on. The reason I keep bring up the other crowd is because it's extremely relevant to how the definition is perceived. In many of their eyes objective standards don't matter, all that matters is if their ego feels ever so slightly challenged.
"alex and mc aren't star crossed lovers"
- This still isn't relevant to anything, though.
"it's extremely relevant to how the definition is perceived"
- Sure, but relevant to what? If a bunch of people use a word wrong, the only thing it's relevant to is the fact that they don't know what they're talking about. If a bunch of people started saying that Mexico was part of Europe, would you value what they're saying, or respectfully tell them they're wrong? You say that how others percieve it is relevant even after I point out exactly how it's not relevant; we went in a circle. You said, "That's fair," and then continued to restate your points as though they weren't rebutted.
"all that matters is if their ego feels ever so slightly challenged."
- Yeah, I feel you. Some people don't want to admit they're wrong and are especially prickly with love interests doing it with anyone other than the MC.
