Buy clothes from the clothing shop, get into a sex scene with one of the characters, talk, and open the clothing menu.
(I don't remember the exact controls, but I mainly play on non-VR and I know you can do it.)

There has been progress being made, they refactored lots of code to support new types of characters. They made a bunch of new toys that are coming in the next update as well.
