Daz How do you do penetration?

Hi, fellow Adult Game Devs!

I wanted to know your preferred methods of handling penetration. Do you use morphs applied, or do you use an animation timeline? Or do you use smoothing modifiers and collision? I'm curious to know how other developers do it as I find it a bit hard to do it properly without seeing significant clipping or off-center angles/positions.

Any advice is appreciated!

P.S. I am not using monster dicks in size, but more normal sized ones.

And as for a serious answer:

I haven't tried to do penetration in DAZ, and especially not animation.

But the answer that someone gave last time this was asked was:

- collision etc will not work

- use the various morph sliders for the lady genital parts to dilate them to match the incoming peepee. this includes manually adjusting frame by frame on the timeline. if necessary use the "unlock" more control to get more range, and/or I believe there is an addon for golden palace that adds more more controls.

- similarly use the morph / rotation controls on the peepee to continuously reposition/re-orientate to match the penetration progress/depth

- the "standard" sex animation bundles available from "directors cut" et al. will only work properly with unmodified g8/m8 figures. No body morphs, no scaling allowed, because that will mess up the positioning of the genital in relation to the figure root bone.

- the easiest animation is the one that doesn't show the details!! take a hint from the movie industry: you only need one closeup of the "action" (penetration in this case), and then can switch to a different angle to show the full body motion without the complexity of animating the difficult parts perfectly. Movies production teams are always cheating in ways like this, and can get away with it because they can control the angle and framing of the shot, so they can just fake stuff, i.e. no need to construct a whole western town - just make semi realistic storefronts with no building behind the windows, because they are only ever shown in the distant background.

Yeah that's on me! Haha, but I wanted to just check as I know a few Game Devs are on here from time to time who have done animations in their VNs.

I appreciate this! I was thinking it would be Morph frame by frame but was hoping not, as that takes an age and a day! But I appreciate the in-depth answer Osanaiko, thank you!

You don’t need to go frame by frame—seriously, that’s the kind of insane work no one’s gonna appreciate. Remember the rule: 30 images is just one second of animation. If you wanna spend a whole day tweaking every single frame for a 2-3 second loop that people will forget in less time than it took you to make it... well, that’s on you. But keep in mind you still have thousands of frames left to render.
It’s not perfect, but you can pull it off with a good eye—just like with regular animation. Let DAZ do its thing, maybe adjust a few keyframes, but don’t waste your time trying to fix every little thing.
Follow the advice you were given: avoid close-up shots. Don’t do what I did, haha...

And obviously, that can’t be the only video you put out, or people are gonna remember it way longer than they should. You need to follow it up with something else—something more interesting if possible.
The idea is to make sure they don’t keep thinking about that first video that maybe didn’t turn out all that great...
