How do you feel about permadeath in porn games?

Just plain frustrating ? Or possibly incentivising to try 'just one more time!' ?

I imagine it depends quite a bit on the type of game, but as a developer I'm really tempted to make a game have permadeath. I imagine players acting much more carefully and logically that way and squeezing out more 'mechanics' and thus more fun out of the game with that playstyle. What do you guys think?

This brings back bad memories of long forgotten mmo's i've dealt in the past , needless to say i have drop them all, i don't believe consequences should be that fatal.
But, hey , everyone with whatever floats his boat so i'm sure there are people fond to the idea.

Depends if the death is random. If I decide to stick my dick in a toaster while standing in the bathtub, I get what I deserve. An amusing or well written game-over can be fun, too.

Even outside of porn games perma death has all but vanished. The days of "hardcore" gaming are fading fast with very few developers willing to push that out as it's just not a popular concept.

To some people it adds an element of excitement but to your average player it just adds frustration and they will likely abandon ship rather than carry on.

Personally, I like the mechanic. It haves you think, 'Oh, I can't do this. I'm five hours in', or something along those lines. It gives the average player an actual challenge, instead of 'I'm going to fuck all these women, and they won't be against it. They should be panting for the dick'.

If you do make the game w/permadeath, (depending on which platform/engine you use) add a save function, one that the player can abuse to his heart's content. Add a warning, 'This game has permadeath. Save often'. (That way, the player can't complain that they didn't know.)

Moral of the story: I'd play it. I like permadeath in games. I like to be challenged.

Permadeath makes sense on arcade machines or more recent survival games but it doesn´t make sense if you get caught watching a female character on the shower and she gets mad.

Some rogue-like porn games have it.
Aika's Trap quest is a good example, if I'm not mistaken, even it's not a death but game-over

I'm not playing H games because I want an engaging intellectual experience. I want to see boobies and sexytime; if I am entertained along the way, all the better. But that is very much a value add, rather than the expected deliverable of the product.

When you're making games you always want to think ahead, and outsmart the player to make it a little challenging.
But if you aren't able to do that, i suppose killing them would make them hate you too.

In fairness when I play a porn game i DON'T want any challenge. if I'm looking for a challenge there are so many normal games that are much better in any way than porn games.

I would fully support a game over in a porn game for various things like...
1. Refusal or lack of funds to pay a prostitute so she shoots you dead.
2. You don't have much money so you bang a meth head crack whore and shoot up with her and overdose. :pancakeMix:
3. You fail to notice a sick woman and get sex in the back alley which results in you catching syphilis and dying. :test2:
4. You resort to illegal methods to raise funds to have sexy times and and die by violent means. :tf:

First of all i don't understand why a porn game should be very difficult or challenging . People i am playing it to get off us not challenge myself . Btw good writing makes me play the game and not extract pictures , use them once then delete it

Even in normal games , i save cheat . Sword of the stars the pit was a great game that i spent probably 100 hours + on it . I don't understand how people expect me to risk 10 hours run on a bad detour mistake or your only armor get destroyed by 1\100 chance random target event ,

In bitch breaker woman in ''training'' will display a strangle smile , jump on your neck and starts hacking you with her nails if you push too her stress meter too much , love it .

Syphilis is easily curable , i say a fictional super bug (Staphyloccus aureus and Streptococcus family have real base candidates , Chlamydia and Tuberculosis cycle is also great for chronic infection , maybe Spored bacteria that goes dormant in bone tissue ) that rots external sexual organs from inside while releasing painkiller hormones so you don't notice until surgery is needed to clean up the infection residue , causing the player to suicide

Edit I don't understand why we don't have any zombie movie based on syphilis or Herpes .

It depends on which type of permadeath is used. There is basic deaths where game is over but people reload a save to retry. Then there is the one with no saves and death is absolutely final.

If the game is short under 10 minutes long, permadeath without saves is fine, you could probably get back to that point in under 4 or 5. If the game takes hours upon hours and can't easily be completed in a single sitting, most won't go for it, especially if the cause may be unknown (infection after a stubbed toe or something in the beginning of the game your character doesn't notice).

Then there is the rogue-like games, where there is no main character just new characters can be spawned in, think rogue legacy, darkest dungeon, xcom, you only ever really play as the grunts who you level up, if they die you get a new unleveled grunt, but who might have a few benefits from the earlier ones.
