Tool Ren'Py How to get started at this?

Hi all!

As you can see in the title I would like to take a look into this game developer thing and would love to hear some tips from you. First idea is to create a VN in Renpy, since it doesnt look too hard to use. I have some basic programming knowledge but thats it.

Questions is which programs to use to give it a try. I've seen Daz3d is the main suggestion but I dont want to pay for females models if im not sure i will keep this going. Next is Honey Select 2 or other Illusion titles, can you make your own characters there? What to do after you have your model to end putting it in your Renpy game? Clothes, environment, lighting, etc.

I know these are a lot of questions and probably not easy to answer ones, but would really apreciate some tips and insight to help me go in the right direction.

you can find a lot of Daz assets here, that includes bodies, haircuts, skins, clothes, places, whatever
from RenPy perspective, it just needs to know what image it has to show, what text is supposed to be on the screen, and when it should show a different image. doesn't matter if it's Daz, Honey Select, 2d images you draw yourself, real porn screenshots or a solid black background
