How to play games from their Japanese discs

Hey guys, I just got back from Japan, and my wife and I picked up some games while we were there. They're all on cd roms, cause Japan is weirdly backwards like that. What's the best way to rip and play them? I recall there was a program that would automatically machine translate the text as you play, but I don't remember what it was called or anythimg.
