aaah, yeah I just looked at these and these are what I found before. These downloads don't seem to be set up with an exe that you can just launch.
VH01 does have an exe, but it's completely broken. Assets seem to be missing. This doesn't seem to be well documented, or I'm just dumb and don't understand anything here.

Idk if I'll even be able to set this up as I'm on Linux.

edit: So it sounds like the OG 01 version is the more feature rich one (which makes sense). The version I was playing was 230814. I think that might be the latest or one of the latest versions.

As far as the VHMV version, I'll work on figuring that one out later, but I think it might not really be worth until there's more updates. It's confusing when there's no exe to launch haha.
I got the VHMV work by swapping over the exe from a different version to launch the game, and I can say its not worth it, it doesn't seem to have the capital or the other 2 towns (at least by train) once you beat the bandit boss thats kinda it, it also doesn't have the quests with the red haired girl, although you can travel south (once you hit level 10) I didnt really explore since the OG rpgmaker one had a better transport system (the orb and the train) and you could actually get to the capital
I like this game because it kinda reminds me of Adventures of Garnett

Ahh I see. Yeah I think I'll stick with 01 until there's more work done. That's awesome that the community is updating the game though. Both Nanako and Serena are great, but I hope Serena's quest is added in soon.

I'm glad you like the game! I was hoping I wasn't overselling it lol. I'm not into the rapey stuff, so VH sits a lot better with me. It still has rape but it's a lot more take and tolerable. And I enjoy the overall vibe and atmosphere as well as the quirky dialogue.

I'll have to look into Adventures of Garnett. I've never heard of it.

RPGM - Abandoned - The Adventures of Garnet [v0.815] | F95zone | Adult Games | Comics | Mods | Cheats
If you like VH I think youll like this just as much if not better, it kinda has the same fighting system and open world, it also consists of different outfits which could change your status such as putting on a slave collar, or wearing a doggy uniform ect it has dozens of bad ends and is a pretty big game iirc it was almost complete before it was abandoned
also if you hold down shift on the rpg maker version of VH apparently you can unlock all the characters it works for me (although I am sure theyre probably buggy since it states theyre incomplete)

I am also not a big fan of all out rape, I prefer a sort of corruption type mechanic

The one thing I find unfortunate about this game is that despite having some nice looking side-characters there isn't that much content about them, some get like a singular scene and that's kinda it.

What’s the difference between the version 1.04.8 and 1.05.4 of the game and especially Why when I start to play in the initial board says that I’m playing the old version?

Try starting Click on the version of VH you're looking to download, then click the blue 'Code' button on the top right and choose to download as a ZIP file from the drop-down menu that should appear afterward. That should let you download the latest Github version. If you're asked for a password when trying to unzip, I believe it's the name of the main heroine from each version - Nanako for most, Serena for Katteban. (At least, that was the case the last time I downloaded VH myself, which was a very long time ago.)

To my understanding the main differences are:

1) VH01 - The original, made on RPG Maker 2000 starting in 2007 IIRC. Should be the most complete, but also the clunkiest of all the versions of VH. Both Nanako and Serena are playable with plenty of content (but also bugs) to navigate, Nanako had the most overall but Serena had a decent amount in as well. To my understanding most if not all of the original devs left a very long time ago, and there's been virtually no new content made for it in years (only translations of existing content at best) since nobody really wants to work with RPGM2K if they don't absolutely have to these days - the last big content drop for VH01 I can recall was the inclusion of Eisen & a rather buggy jungle storyline, and that was about a decade ago.

2) VH Katteban - A Serena-centric fork made by her creator (Waru, the same guy who made VP) after falling out with the VH team over creative differences in the early 2010s. More content for Serena naturally, existing content from base VH was reworked to be rather more rapey (as you might guess Waru was really into the 'Violated' part of Violated Heroine/Princess), and she was given a facelift to seem even more childlike (I would say VP-Serena's design occupies a midpoint between base VH-Serena and the downright kindergartner-y look of VHK-Serena, but is closer to the former). Has been abandoned for years since Waru went all-in on making VP instead.

3) VHMV - The most modern version, made on RPG Maker MV in more recent years. As you have observed, it's the version being updated most regularly nowadays. The last time I downloaded VHMV, they were still porting content over and only Nanako was playable, unsure if that has changed significantly as it's been a while since.

Missing from that repository is a fork of VHK made after Waru stopped updating it, which is basically a Serena-only scene viewer with little gameplay and which never got even a partial translation as VHK did to my knowledge. Said it before but I'm not sure if that will ever be updated again, Rosemary had been working on a promising confinement storyline (you can see some completed assets posted to his VHR-specific blog entry on the same website) shortly before pivoting to making his VP 'different Serena personalities' mod and I'm guessing that's taking all his modding time & energy atm (especially as he's started working on it again after taking a break following the Christmas 1.01 release).
I might be stupid, tried to download translations and main 01 game files and thats not a problem, cant find the kateban due to link on github being dead. What im stumped at the moment is figuring out how to download rpgmaker trans as the only files from website that i can even find it are without executable to even use the files. Do i just simply drag and drop them into jp 01 file or am i stupid and just dont see the exe in rpgmaker trans files, i am trying to follow the github translation guide
