You need to go to nwjs.io and download the engine files. Dunno if they all work, version nwjs-v0.46.4-win-x64 is what worked for me.
Thanks! I sort of lost heart and stop trying. I maybe give it another attempt later, but I think the old version is the better one atm. Sort of wish the new version was in Godot or Unity because then I could help contribute lol.
i presume nwjs is for the VHMV version only seeing the other ones are on old rpg2k.
Yeah this stuff is just way too confusing. This is coming from someone who uses linux and has spent a large amount of time coding in Unity and Godot. The issue is the lack of documentation. The files don't come with a working exe and the readme files doesn't help. I'm just going to stick with the version I've been playing. The OG VH01. I'd like to get katteban translation working though, but I spent all day the other day trying to figure out how to get any of those 4 repos working.
Anyways, I don't mean to sound upset and blow up on this forum. It sounds like this was much easier to set up at one point. I could very well be looking in the wrong place, but idk. Maybe there's some kind of issue going on.
I tried the version you tried and I get a script error. I'm gonna give up on this. Idk if being on Linux has anything to do with it, but there is a Linux version of nwjs.
Maybe one day I'll sit down and look into this, but for now, I think I only care about VH01 till more work gets done for VHMV. I wish the dev team the best. Game dev is hard and VH seems very ambitious.

I'm no expert, idk why it isn't working for you since I use windows. This is how I did it.
I zipped the HMMV directory (the one with audio, data, fonts, e.t.c) and extracted it on my pc (Windows 11). Using version nwjs-v0.46.4-win-x64,
I extracted everything into the base folder which looks like this;
Explaining isn't really my strong suit but hope this helps.

I got the Linux version to work. Though it's stuttery for some reason. I might be better off using the Windows version and running it with WINE/Proton.
I think the audio is a lot cleaner than VH01. And the UI is better. That's pretty nice.

No english patch for Rosemary??
i have gone to the official site and downloaded the hiroiheya mod 1 and 2 and followed the instructions for installation but the mods wont work no matter what i do, how do i get the mods to work

The Hirioheya mods 1 & 2 come pre-installed and translated with the main game download, there is no need to get them from the source. If anything, I would recommend actively not doing so, since even the slightest difference in file structure trying to apply it to the existing version in this thread could very well break the already precarious balance the game exists in.
That said, should you try other mods, simply copy the www folder in the mod directory over the folder of the same name in the actual game directory, and confirm the replacement of all files when prompted.
If the question rather is how to get to them in-game, all mods come with save files directly preceding their content. Copy the save data into the save folder located within the aforementioned www directory to get right to them. The hirioheya mod has a significant branch in it, which I included a dedicated save for in my original master post.

Here is the missing file. You can try and drop it into the stated file path shown in the error. But as with ~90% of graphical errors of this nature, chances are far more likely then not that the missing files are more numerous, and this single fix won't help anything functionally. There was either an error in decomp, which should be pretty unlikely outside other contributing factors, possible file corruptions from mods, which obviously would only be the case if you are playing a modded game, or a system locale error due to not having a Unicode codec loaded from not having your system in the japanese locale, which would have triggered an error basically as soon as you start the game.
Either way, the most sure-fire solution would be to just grab a fresh install here

, which I can verify as having no errors or missing files on the game's end. As long as the game unpacks normally and you have syslocale set right before unpacking it, the game will run fine.

Are Rosemary MODs follower download only? I'm not that great at navigating Ci.en so the only link I can find is the 1.01 version and nothing on any more recent posts. (Also apologies if my grammar sucks, I'm not a native English speaker)

the thing is not new misionsa re appearing at the guild and the only thing to earn money I am seeing is the armor shop that pays like 80g and the bar that pays 110 for a perfect run

You don't need to pay the debt to the brothel, as long as you save before turning in quests you can reload to a previous save to prevent Serena from losing her virginity, this way you'll have enough money to advance the story.
There's also a point where Serena will start selling her nightgown and undergarments but I think that's a little later on so not really applicable to your situation.
