It's good to see that you're calmly checking what might work and what might not.Man I been working and thinking on the last week's and well good news and bad news.
the good news it's that I already made the first character wrote all the dialogs of the introduction and well good progress if I keep at this ritm I would publish the version 1.0 in two or three months ( I don't plan to publish anything until I have 15 to 20 % percent of the game done)
The bad news it's that I realized that I was overconfident of my abilities and after reflecting for a few days I decide that the game that I wanted to create was to much just for me so there was two options to take
A) let the proyect on hold for at least two years until I have the abilities needed to create the game of my dreams, with the advice of everyone
B) create a more basic game that have nothing to do with my first proyect but that would help me polish all my abilities, but it would take more time to create the game that I wanted but making the game has some perks like being more well know in the community, more contacts and extra Cash for my dream proyect.
I decide to choose B because even though it's not exactly the game that I anticipated it would help me get closer to my goals
So that would pretty much it I would post the first characters in this thread ( It you know anything about drawing or wants to give me some opinion of my drawing I would be happy to read it) I hope after finishing this project I would be able to draw ten times better
Post data: if you are interested in this project I can give you the introduction of the game
Your pretty much spot on I'm the genre of the game it's doing that while you corrupt the charactersHi bro. I dont understand exactly the genre, I figured it could be some sort of resource management strategy RPG game.
Other than that, I am a firm believer in the idea that art and porn first, so good art justifies anything. Could you tell me details about the art choices you intend to do? Does your game involves porn ? I hope it does.
Yes that was pretty much my whole thinking process, I Hope that you like the new project I would be updating a little about my art with information of the characters here so you can come Check thus thread more oftenIt's good to see that you're calmly checking what might work and what might not.
This is one of the first steps any developer, experienced or not, has to take to convey some trust and credibility.
And in my opinion, if you see that a basic project is better (short, medium, large in size, but with good content, art, good interactions, etc.), you might also be on the right track, as long as you don't get lost in nebulous planning and greed.
you have to improve art. Use AI if you cant draw. Thats all it matters in porn.Your pretty much spot on I'm the genre of the game it's doing that while you corrupt the characters
And yes the game involves porn, about my art choices well It took me some time but I decided to create a mix between realistic and anime style leaning more on the realistic side (you can see my first character in this thread if you like) I also plan in putting a lot of effort in the art style over everything hope that answers your questions
Thanks I also think that I did the right decision and I hope that this proyect ends wellTo be honest, it seemed big enough to make me a little worried. Projects that are too daunting can lead to burnout and loss of interest.
We congratulate and encourage you for setting your goals in a more long-term and progressive direction.
I'm also curious about the new project.
I appreciate your opinion but AI art is so souless that would remove any desire for my gameyou have to improve art. Use AI if you cant draw. Thats all it matters in porn.
I would encourage you to use AI. Reason: if you are not expert gam developer, your first game will be utter trash anyway. If you do not have art skills, to develop them will take time and who knows how many times you will change your ideas, based on the intuition you develop through art learning process.I appreciate your opinion but AI art is so souless that would remove any desire for my game
I really love the idea to use the Ai as placeholder and I would definitely use it and I really appreciate all your other pointers but I would definitely not create a trash game even though it's my first game I will put all my effort into it and I want to create something that it's mine and I know it's not gonna win game of the year but as long as am proud of my own creation I would feel proud of my selfI would encourage you to use AI. AI offers you the optimal path, while you learn artistry (with AI support), you are able to focus solely on your game, hence you will improve your game mechanics, you will improve your game coding skills.
youre always in time to swap all AI assets with your hand drawn ones. You would be able to use AI assets as "placeholder". and meanwhile you do progress.
Third and last advantage: having a game mockup will help you convey your idea, in case you will seek cooperation.
Yes that's what am gonna use it for as helpful tool for my drawing and I would put the progress I did today it's almost nothing because I change my drawing app for a better one with more things to make the process more faster but it's taking me more than expected to understand every feature. Im gonna go easy on that, so until that Im not gonna be posting about my drawing but my advance on the game itself. But for now my small advanceAlthough I am also negative about AI drawings, I agree that they are very easy to make and reduce work time.
At the very least, it can be used as a temporary resource before starting work, or it can be helpful in sketching or basic composition.
And your new project looks organized. I'm looking forward to it.
yes thats the spirit. try to do the best. But what I mean is that you will make experience, you will change your mind on various things. Your first game will always have a special place in your heart for sure. But I would not start with a big almost impossible game that demands tonnes of art...I really love the idea to use the Ai as placeholder and I would definitely use it and I really appreciate all your other pointers but I would definitely not create a trash game even though it's my first game I will put all my effort into it and I want to create something that it's mine and I know it's not gonna win game of the year but as long as am proud of my own creation I would feel proud of my self
I really I apreciate your toughs and because of that I would focus on the core mechanics and the dialogue before the art, I would not change my mind about the AI but after Finish most of the mechanics and dialogues am not able to create an art that satisfy me I would ask for other artist help and if it's necessary I would pay them to create the art I would also give you a the first steps that I would do to create my game if it has a start ☆ it's finished and if it has a clover/ club ♧ I'm working on it and it has a diamond ◇I'm not in that part yetyes thats the spirit. try to do the best. But what I mean is that you will make experience, you will change your mind on various things. Your first game will always have a special place in your heart for sure. But I would not start with a big almost impossible game that demands tonnes of art...
The risk is that you get demoralized. The risk is high. I seen even major artists getting demoralized and dropping their games, some created a game and took 4 years to achieve minuscule results, demoralization happens do not think I am making it up, it is so common among game makers who underestimated the challenges.
But instead, if you are abit more honest, and you use AI, your goal will be reachable. You are always in time to swap all AI assets. Perhaps it could be good to create a well planned progress pipeline, while in the beginning you just focus on core mechanics, but you have plan to expand the game... Thats my 2 cents.
Hey, that is interesting. I think you have worked well to plan your asset production.Finish most of the mechanics
