Depends on how deep you're going, but if you're going with a basic CYOA (Choose your own adventure) game without altering the basic UI, you won't need too much coding experience. I mean, YOU CAN learn, hell, that's what I did, I started with zero experience, but took me months to start learning HTML, twine script and javascript as I was stumbling starting my game.
But if you're going to make a complex game, with the Ui modified, minigames and such... yeah, you'll need coding experience.
