Idiots Guide to F95Zone required

Dear God there's really no helping some people, is there?

in relation to some of the games that I've played on here and also reading some of the posts about them, generally by "hapless type" of people about how to take screenshots, and also others not knowing how to use their PC's etc, because they can't even seem to resolve their most basic issues, mainly reading the OP, or reading recent posts to see if their "inane and repetitive Q's" have already been asked, along with the lack of use of the search function etc., [let alone using a search engine for online help etc.], it makes me wonder how some people have been let loose with technology, because it seems to me that they've only recently upgraded from a wax tablet and stylus!

I wonder if F95Zone will bring out an idiots guide to this site, because it seems to really need one, going on some of the posts on some of the game threads, it really does beg the question. Should they bring one out?

If people don't read OPs what makes you think they'll read an idiot's guide? Considering the number of complaints about things in my game that I have clear warnings about both in the game's text and on the game's thread, I've lost faith that people care. It's not that they're stupid, it's just that they don't care.

People don't read the OP, people don't even read the side of the thread they are posting on. You think an idiot's guide would change that? Let me give you a hint:

I agree, but in the same time an idiot guide would provide a link to give as answer to those people. And a "read this" can be better for the thread's peace, than a harsh answer, or no answer at all with the same guy asking again and again (or out of topic in another section of the forum).
But that's just my thoughts.

OneManVN had to redo his intro to put a disclaimer in about his story based game containing text because someone complained about text being in a story based VN.

That amused me.

I've also seen people ask how to install games despite the OP containing installation instructions.

The funniest thing i've ever seen is people posting "is this game abandoned?" on games tagged completed.

It's like they can't even read the title.

Let's be real. A few days ago, N7 asked me if my sig ever worked cause most people, apparently, can't read. I replied how I thought most people are just lazy to check a few pages back but now I'm sure they're too lazy to look just two posts before theirs.

So, yeah... Even if you put that guide in the form of some sexy game, they would simply skip to the porn scenes.

I know, I got fed up of posting things like this. My post was laced with (heavy) sarcasm, with regards to people who can't be arsed to use this, or even think about using it.

HA! Universities now force students to take 2000 level courses on how to use the University. "This the lunchroom, this is financial aid, this is the library, etc." Most students welcome the easy A. Others barely attend, and then have no idea how to look for periodicals in the library. I like anne O's idea that at least a page makes it easy to leave links to those with certain problems.

Be aware that you'll need a walkthrough for your guide, as well as saves!

As someone who does know how things work, this site is amazing! Options for almost any advanced query and discussion topic (yeah yeah no CP, we all want this place to still be here tomorrow...) and so far everything has been fairly well-labeled and easily accessible. My only gripe is the very limited tagging options, I prefer the "booru" style of "tag every minute detail, add aliases and exclusionaries like 'female only' for good measure" thus mostly end up running advanced text searches.

Oh and that one bug where pressing Enter instead of clicking the "Search" button would ignore your settings, but that seems to have been fixed and it seems none of the poor fools ever made it far enough to encounter that one

As far as an actual "idiot's guide" goes, don't bother. That will only attract greater idiots once word gets around how accomodating and "easy to use" this site is.

People are spoiled. There are so many "games" to play for free that they don't see the need to bother searching for the answers whatever they may be. Why search F95 when you can ask the developer who owes you an explanation and money to play the game they spent no time making. I mean we all know game devs on here don't work for these games right? It's so easy anyone can do it. You click render, and then you upload to F95 you gots game man. Now send money to patron please I feed children.

In my relatively short time reading these forums, people complaining about users not doing a search and asking silly questions (subjective) would have to be one of the most repeated posts I have seen which is rather ironic.

Many features even something as simple as the search box has little nuances to it that will affect how likely you are to get the results you are after. Which I will admit I am yet to master efficient use of the F95 search. I could have used the wrong word, included/missed an apostrophe, or even simply missed what I was looking for as I was skimming over the page and there it is in big bold letters - it is likely we have all done that.

Other things I have noticed about F95 is that many of the games on here come from countries where English is not their primary language so I am guessing there is also a large CALD userbase which I think is great and something we need to respect.

I don't think an "idiot's guide" will stop people asking questions that seem idiotic to you, but I do think respect and understanding of this diverse user-base by the more regular posters on this site will go a long way in a supportive F95 community that you enjoy being a part of.

Also is this thread coming with an android release? and has it been abandoned because there hasn't been any messages in the last hour?

Believe it or not, if an Idiot's guide was made, people still wouldn't read it, rendering the guide moot and pointless.
