This was a delightful surprise. A bleak and kafka-esque take on naughty games. The writing is top notch, the monotone art is perfectly paired with the grim content, the few scenes in the demo are generally bug free and easy to navigate.

Weaknesses: not much content yet (1-2 hrs?), no meaningful plot choices yet (no consequences for scenario decisions), and it's frankly untitillating. I was expecting a creeper power fantasy, with a petty bureaucrat taking advantage of his petty authority. Instead, I got a heartfelt meditation about social isolation, powerlessness, small attempts to improve a soul crushing system in spite of itself, and the occasional desultory sex scene.

With more development, it could become a brilliant and unique game/story, though.

One of the best takes on impirium I had seen so far - play as a auditor of administratum in a typical imperium hive planet. Writing is great, it has three pathes for character skills and personality which are all well written and add to replay-ability. We are allowed to act as good or as evil as we like (or do nothing at all and just skip the quest alltogether)

A lot of content for the demo - three full quests, three sex scenes (all are optional), a lot of characterisation and I can see it becoming a great project.

Good art, AMAZING writing, AMAZING diversity by player's choices, it really feels like they matter alot, also author really knows how to play on other's emotions., given its an 40k novel that makes it ALOT better. I think the writing is even better then in most official books, truly a work of passion right there right there.

Absolute gold. The setting is very well done, the tone crafted and conveyed masterfully, the tidpieces of random lore yet subtle enough that you can get into it without knowing anything about 40k.....*chef kiss*.

Choices! Real choices! You can be a bastard, or you can be a good soul and both *work*. The consensual enthusiastic scene when you refuse the soulless bribe of the desperate........or the fully "I enjoy fucking you even if its a bribe" (different characters) means there is content for everyone.

And, honestly, i could totally play this as a not fap game, papers please looks bad in comparison

Excellent writing. Heartfelt drawings. Depressing and grim setting, but so far you can try to do a little bit of good (however there is a lot of potential for everything to get considerably more horrible, and hardly any for it to get better).

i vibe so much with this.

    its grueling, cruel, raw.
it presents the scenario as it is, no false empathy nor anything. just words, descriptions, and suffering.
its very well written, and combined with the artstyle and theme, this game just sucks you in its world.

looking foward for more, cheers dev

A very promising start, with an interesting premise and a very atmospheric artstyle.

However, the writing is the absolute highlight of the game, wich is something I don't think I've said about an nsfw game since TLS. The comparisons to Disco Elysium seem very fitting so far, especially in tone and the dream-esque writing style, wich is nothing but high praise.
If you enjoy 40k, or really just good writing in your nsfw games this is a must play.

    Exalted Text

Imperium Bureaucracy Hero is a great showing. It's definitely a Disco Elysium-inspired take on the Warhammer 40k universe (which is a great combination). While the artwork won't be everyone's cup of tea, especially when it comes to erotica, it's unique and fitting for the tone of the game. Where the game may lack in visuals or gameplay mechanics, the creator makes up for it with great writing, flavor text via the selection of 'roles' or 'traits', and even well-written sexual scenes.

Very excited to follow this one and see where it goes. Keep up the good work, Munitions Mori. Which is a badass username... Remember you must lasgun and bolter heretics.

This demo is nothing less than the seed of something truly unique. If the idea of a Disco Elysium influenced nsfw experience in the 40k setting has even the slightest appeal to anyone reading these reviews (and it honestly should), then drop everything that's going on and try it out for yourself.

    * The developer gets the setting like few people do, the stories of small flames of light burning against the oppressive dark, and weaves it in with compelling smut at the same time.
    * The Facet system when creating your character is implemented seamlessly into regular dialogue and makes you want to replay the game to experience the different ways another facet might interpret a given situation.
    * The artstyle oozes with flavour, and makes sketchy drawings look far better than what other artists might draw cleanly.

All in all, a very promising initial demo that has me more hyped for this project than what many other unfinished games has got me with a year of development behind them.

A quirky little gem with great respect for the lore and universe, great start for a v0.1 The game straddles a fine line between respecting the universe, being an actual VN and a few pornier bits, so far quite well.

Art - Great for the tone of the game, love the black and white with splashes of colour where appropriate.
Gameplay - It's a renpy VN. There's nothing fancy, there's no extra things apart from the story and functional menus, it works for what the game is aiming at.
Story and Writing - This is the big one, even as a short vignette the tone is appropriate and unlike most of the games set in 40K this one isn't a parody.
Honestly nothing but praise for the preview we've seen so far, actually reminds me of Life and Suffering of Sir Bronte and the very early Black Industries Dark Heresy roleplay books both in tone and quality of writing.
I do want to know the people of Crescyt and what makes them tick - I only hope the tone doesn't shift too drastically or get lost in the scope of a hive city.

    V0.1 Review

    Writing
    :

There isn't yet much to see, but it is already where the game shines.

This isn't a porn parody. It is a serious take on the genre and the setting... with some sex in it.

It is mature and touching, depicting the harrowing search for happiness in the twilight of Man.

    Art :

Very unique art. Its roughness matches the setting very well. It isn't a sexy or pleasant place to be in. It is ugly.

In any other game, I would describe the art as... not good enough for a VN.

But here, it works, because it takes a step back, instead supporting the text by evoking a mood. I don't think the writing would be as strong without it.

I also hope its sketchy, black & white style will allow a faster production rate than other 2D visual novel.

    Gameplay

It is ver 0.1, so too early to judge.

But the use of traits in character creation, map-roaming, and the dialogue choices were more than enough for this first draft.

While being dodgy at time, there is a solid foundation, it gives you enough agency as the player to make you feel like a person that can affect and get lost in this world.

I have no doubt that once we are further into production with more paths, options to exploit and consequences, it will be as good as the rest.

    Sex scenes :

The sex scenes weren't arousing, and one was even unsettling.

But all were believable, organically woven in the story and telling something about the setting and the people involved in it.

The creator really went the extra-mile.

This isn't a dumb fap-game. It is a good game.

In short, Munitions Mori gained a patreon... with just his v0.1

I understand a porn forum is a poor place to say this but bless you sir! There was more humanity and pathos in this little sex game in the darkest of universes in fiction than in anything I've seen in a while. Truly truly wonderful. I will be watching updates for this with great earnest!

Great setting, interesting art style and good writing. It offers choices in character creation and how to complete quests. The future looks really good for this. Especially for a 1st game this is brilliant.

While I lack much knowledge of 40k I truly do enjoy the grimdark scene and at 0.1 there isn't a ton of content but more than enough to keep you occupied! I will say playing as a good guy bureaucrat felt very good and rewarding, good luck creator!

Based on the 0.1, this seems like a gem in the making. Amazing art, though the lewd scenes could stand to be better, and the personality aspects truly set it apart from others, they're slightly reminiscent of Disco Elysium, in the best way. Razor Wire's my favorite.
