In what state are patreon games since the new rules?

I'll be perfectly honest and get it out of the way: My kinks are more in the extreme - rape, abuse, incest, bestiality.

Since patreon, porn games have exploded. I'm just curious how creators are managing with the new rules in place. Does it look like all games will be as vanilla as possible to not offend the patreon overlords or what?

Sadly I've been very busy and will continue to be so in the foreseeable future and have been unable to find a real answer, I hope people don't see this post as being too redundant.

Patreon seems to be hitting hard incest games, probably because half the games out there are incest based. Some developers have been sanitizing their games to fit the new rules and some others are being abandoned.

So like, Roundscape Adorevia is by no means safe? Isn't bestiality in the same boat?

Here is what you should know. Patreon make a serious effort to enforce his new policy. Quite zelous about it really and patreon pages of games that are violating these rules are falling like leafes already. So yes. Patreon pages games are conforming to the letter of the new law, trying to abuse loopholes but as of now it seems Patreon is actively fighting those as well.

So if you decide to develop a game with any of those tags you've mentioned, you'll be terminated much more probably than not. Its just a matter of time it seems and even those games that are still up are either in contact with Patreon's customer support to get information on what they need to remove and change or simply further up on the list that Patreon follows.

And there's no alternative sites cropping up? Isn't the porn market of patreon quite huge? I've seen many hundreds of thousands of dollars there. Someone has to be doing something about this :(

Yes, there are. Its just that they are new and noone knows how reliable they are and/or charges more what patreon does. Not to mention the matter of convenience if trust wasn't enough. I'm afraid Patreon is forced to do this. Like someone already suggested (and i support the idea, but still this is just suspicion) its paypal who is behind this so it matters not how much money Patreon earns, it is now commited to make things vanilla. Its a US based company after all and i'm afraid it doesn't wanna risk huge courtfights over this.

Right now some are moving onto their own sites or trying to remove all their contents from Patreon while keeping their account over there solely as a donation box so to speak. They adertise, discuss and keep links on their own site while their patron account is devoid of any information that leads to the page that hold all the sensitive material. Simply changing the content but providing for example an incest patch seems to be not enough. There are already reports that Patreon actually checks those links and they find incest in the game, just hidden behind a code, they terminate all the same.

Well ... I'm fucked.

I wish I was into vanilla stuff. But I'm not. I'd rather do something else, which might just be what's gonna happen. Thanks for the info!

and are the two I know of. Sponsorion seems to have a fairly good grasp of what they're setting up, however we have yet to see it implemented. AdultPledge is already up and running, however they are still workshopping how to deal with fees. You could talk to @przewodo specifically about adultpledge

About the fees, for now, we will stay with Payza that is a good and reliable payment system and it was the lowest fees for adult content that we found. On our we explain exactly how it is done.

Our focus is specific for adult games, digital comics and e-books. This is why the fees from the payment system is high.

We are new on the market, but we have robust datacenter with high security. We do not stay with any credit card info, this job is for Payza.

We have almost all features that Patreon have. All of our links are published to Google, Bing and other search engines to find creators and open posts.

Currently we are investing in advertise and adwords. Even with our new website and have only one project there, we have about 800 new people going into our website every day to see the content.

Is someone wants to start a campaign, fell free to go.

Are you only going to advertize using adwords or do you have an alternate strategy? One of the things that could help your initiative is luring big-name adult creators to your platform, they could be the standard bearers for an exodus from Patreon so to speak. I think community outreach, like you do on F95 (and maybe elsewhere), is even more important than pouring money in the Google Adwords soup.

Also, Adult Pledge's website doesn't clearly advertize what it's niche is, Sponsorion communicates this better (even without a running platform). If you're going to be the go-to platform for adult creators you should clearly state so on your frontpage, it's rather generic right now. Some sexy artwork (instead of a bearded guy looking at a screen) might entice visitors to explore further. There's also no way for both creators and potential backers to see how the platform works exactly, you have to dive into the footer links or view the only project currently setup at AP to really get a sense of how it works. Even then it's not clear from the website how payments work for both pledgers and creators.

As for the state of Patreon. Most projects that I know of are still running, but trying to keep under Patreon's radar. After every lull in content reviews another seems to crop up out of nowhere, Summertime Saga being the latest. It seems the content review team works slowly, but is still at it. Dating My Daughter is the only game that has been permanently removed after a review, I believe.

Thanks for the advises! We will see what we can modify on our homepage to improve it.

We already contacted Dark Silver from BB and Dark Cookie from Summer Time Saga. Dark Silver for now will let BB in standby. Dark Cookie said that when our platform has more projects and grow a little more, he will migrate the project. MrDots we tried to contact, but he does not respond. If someone has his contact on discord, I will be thankful if someone introduce me to him.

We do not have yet any material with adult content to place in our banners. That is why is the banners are generic, but focused in Games and Comics. That is something that we say in the homepage. Maybe it is not clear enough. :)

The layout that we made was basically almost the same as Patreon. Because we have only one project there, we didn't place any into homepage, but this feature to put random projects on the homepage is already implemented, just not released yet.

The reason to make the navigation looks like Patreon is because the users are already used to navigate that way.

Thanks very much for your advises. We are glad that are people trying to help.

If you want, you can chat with me in PM too. :)

While I understand that it's a big deal for both creators and supporters, I think that the fees is the less important thing at start. You found an operator which don't have indecent fees, its already better for creators than having no way to earn some money.
As for the ads, have you tried to contacts creators of the most popular games ? As a starting service, and a service dealing with our money, what you need the most at first is raising your reputation. Having well knew creators trusting you, even if they also keep their Patreon account, will help for this. In the same times, like Patreon hit a little harder each day, they're probably willing to open an account somewhere else, even if it's just to be ready in case Patreon finally kick them out.
So, it's a win-win situation. They've a backup solution "in case", and you raise your reputation by having them.
