Need help with the "IndexError: list index out of range" error in Python that has been occurring with some games using this engine lately.

The log file is totally useless since it doesn't even talk about the error. What would be more significant is the traceback file.
But it doesn't create, and the game crashes on startup. I searched other threads on the site for similar issues, but even if I found any solutions, they didn't help.
I'm confident enough in my programming skills to call myself a complete and utter lame person. The only thing I can do is rely on others for advice.

Do you have an Intel 14900K processor? It's know to trigger some instability in Python, and therefore Ren'Py.
If it's the case, there's apparently many way to solve the issue:
You must be registered to see the links
. Disabling the turbo mode. Tweaking the CPU through the Intel's Extreme Utility. And perhaps few others that I don't remember.
If it's not the case, then it's absolutely not normal that you don't get a traceback.
