The dynamics of this game's development will be a lesson for other creators. The game is well designed, but there is literally very little content. The skill tree structure is suspiciously blocked, most likely because the author does not yet know what can be added there, there is no plan.

Result:
1. The game has been in alpha version for 3 years.
2. There is practically no content.
3. The developer constantly redraws the characters
4. Updates are released extremely rarely.

It seems that the author maintains activity on his Patreon only so that paid subscribers do not leave him. IMHO - the game does not have the content that would allow my inner hamster to pay money.

Appeal to other developers:
Friends - do not do this. If you are asking for support, provide a product that people will want to pay for.

When developing a game, it is important to follow several rules:
The architecture of the entire program should be built in such a way that a patch could be added later. The main narrative is always a priority, side quests are added by patches. The player should be able to save his progress, so that when new patches are released, he can continue the game from where he left off plus get access to side quests.

But with the current architecture, this is almost impossible, I looked at the insides of the game and there is a complete mess. In the future, he will have a huge number of difficulties with this. Which will most likely force him to redo the game several times. Let's see what happens in the future.

Tried out version 0.8.0, and even if it's not much progress, I love how it's turning out!
For the first time I experienced a couple of bugs, but I just solved them by restarting the game (they didn't occur again).
The scene in Karina's office is very brief, but sets a significant part of the future gameplay.
Crossing my fingers for more updates to come out, as I am enjoying this quite a lot

I genuinely wish they'd let anyone help them. They're doing the writing, art, and coding. All while primarily being an artist that is not a native speaker and probably didn't do coding until this game. I've offered to help with the writing(even if it's just spell checking) and they've never responded.

The numbers fluctuate and the reasons can be multiple. You can't interpret the numbers just by looking at them, you would have to contextualize and watch the trend in the long run. Unless you own a crystal ball and can see everything that happens from a distance in real time.
About scamming, seems very peculiar to me that someone would start to develop such an elaborate game just to scam people out of their money, but oh well, it could be. But there are simpler ways to do that, just saying. I know because I have been a victim of money scams.
You choose to think that the dev is being dishonest and that's why you could be fairly seen as a hater, but as far as we know, (s)he could be at an early experience in developing which would make him (her) have second thoughts and change his (her) mind multiple times. Your thinking is a choice until you can factually prove it. The fact that the game itself so far has some problems is not enough proof. Moreover, this website is packed full of games where you can experience bugs. Running into bugs is regular game-developing life.
I'm not happy with the inconsistency the dev has had through the last few years in bringing updates, but I try to be objective.

Not to mention all the abandoned games. The developers pocketed the patrons' money and, when they got fed up with it or it wasn't making enough money, they simply let them down by abandoning the game altogether. And even if there was no intention to scam in the first place (for most ), some may perceive it that way because they've invested for a long time in a game that, in the end, will never be finished.

And yes, you're absolutely right, there are much easier ways to rip people off. For example, you can clone a real online store and Google will be happy to advertise your fraudulent website without bothering to check its authenticity (thanks Google, you owe me 300€ ).

I think it's more a case of the dev getting bogged down in a never-ending cycle of trying to do things over and over again that don't need to be remade. He'd do better to concentrate on his code instead. It's a bloody mess in there, I can see why savegames are incompatible from one update to the next. His game has enormous potential, but if the dev keeps banging on about insignificant details instead of moving forward, this game will be added to the already too-long list of abandoned games.

A lack of support for saves does not make the developer a scammer. In the worst case scenario, it is just proof of incompetence.
For this game itself, the dev hasn't made normal support for saves because (s)he is still changing the game retroactively, has redesigned the characters and the game structure itself. The game is still at an early stage and making slow progress.
Although it should be mentioned that most of the long parts of the game can be skipped, if you don't want to play/watch them all over again.

It should also be mentioned that the dev's patreon has a system where the supporters can decide to what the author gives priority. Which means a big part of the process is influenced by the supporters themselves.

That's because you are decontextualizing it from my argument. I am talking about the fact that the game does not have support for saves from previous releases, and I am saying that this fact alone doesn't prove the dev to be a scammer, in reply to Hydragon98 's comment.
There is still a possibility that Carnile might be a scammer, but if that's true, releasing updates without support for saves from previous releases, that's not what makes it a scam.

Saves for every day for version 0.8.0.
Just add a save file of whatever day at the save location:
c:\Users\ ... \AppData\LocalLow\DefaultCompany\Innerself Project\

Yep another Perverted Education as predicted. Most of the games even on F95Zone are like this, so many are perpetually stuck in 0.1 they never move on from that.
