Hell yeahI think I’ve found a way to overcome this issue and it’s actually very close to what you were suggesting. Thanks!

So basically wait for the next version whenever that is due to keep playing where we left off? So just ignore the current release/update until then? Finally fixed the save system! FromYou must be registered to see the linksonward, players will be able to carry their save files through future updates.
Then I'll wait for a version that can play with save files. I'm really tired of having to restart the game after every update. So basically wait for the next version whenever that is due to keep playing where we left off? So just ignore the current release/update until then?
yea. sorry, i don't know what this dev is doing, but we've had devs that pulled this stunt in the past. the game is BROKE, so we leaving a BROKE version out for the entire time until the next release. which surprise, is broken too. its ok right? if they want to working version they should subscribe! So basically wait for the next version whenever that is due to keep playing where we left off? To those who’ve supported or given constructive feedback, thank you. I’m one dev doing all of this solo, and while I can’t please everyone, I do listen and try to improve things every step of the way.v0.04 goes public
v0.05 goes to Patreon
→ Bugs get reported (on F95Zone).
→ I fix the bugs and release v0.05HF to Patreon, meanwhile, v0.04 still has those bugs because I don’t retroactively patch older versions.
Then (usually after 2 weeks):
v0.05HF goes public (I don’t release the buggy v0.05 to the public)
v0.06 goes to Patreon
→ I start working on v0.07.
At this point, if bugs are reported in v0.05HF, they’ll be fixed in v0.07, unless I haven’t started on the new update yet or the bug is reported early enough, in which case I may release a v0.06HF.
Sorry you're having to do this all on your own it sucks but. I don't even care about the saves I am fine with starting over but the game just flat out doesn't work for me at all. I was a supporter, but I cancelled my subscription because the fact when I told you it did not work, I got no reply and was simply ignored. I dont know what it is thats causing it not to work but maybe need to work on a format that can work onJust to clear things up:
The save system issue that existed in v0.04 and earlier has already been fixed. The fix was implemented in v0.05HF (May 24th), and yes, as always, Patreon supporters got it first, because that's how the release cycle works and will always work. That version just went public with the release of v0.06, which (surprise!) also has the fix.
If you're still hanging around waiting for “a version where saves work”, you might want to check the actual update notes or the game version you’re running, because it's already released on f95zone.
Now, just so there's no further confusion, here’s how I usually update the game:

I just went through the comments and saw that you were getting black screens at startup in v0.04, sorry, I must have forgotten to reply back then. I did improve the startup speed in v0.04HF afterward, though I realize that may not have helped you at the time. I’ll also try to improve it further in the next update.Sorry you're having to do this all on your own it sucks but.
