from what I remember the only difference between the basic version and the other one is that the basic version doesn't have cheats enabled.

Sure, if you want to ogle a dude while playing this instead. No homophobia intended, but there's always people whining about FMC games not having a MMC as well/instead. A lot of games have capitulated on this and have always suffered a decrease in quality.
