MoanRecorder

Moan Recorder is available. .

Hey guyz!
Been lurking a long time around here, never posted anything. I guess it's time to change that.

I'm a creator on Virt-A-Mate ( VAM for short ) and do all sorts of plugins, scene, content (sound design, music, VFX and more). But I'm also a big fan of kinky visual novels. Due to the fact that I'm into sound design, I've always missed the fact that, most visual novels focused on porn do not have actual arousing sounds to go with it.

So since, I did a library especially for that, I thought it would be nice to bring a tool to the renpy community.

This is where MoanRecorder comes in.

MoanRecorder is a scene created out of several plugins of my own allowing anybody using Virt-A-Mate to produce a completely unique wav file of moans and sex sounds. The system exports a stereo wav file that you can convert to ogg and use in any of your games. ANY. I'm thinking first and foremost of the renpy community, but any kind of porn game could use the audio files... as long as they have an audio engine : D

You can watch a preview on .

The concept is pretty simple:
- Hit record
- Play with the different type of sounds as you wish, creating a unique "moan session"
- Hit stop and save the file

You have the possibility to play with the intensity, pause between moans, voice pitch, characters... and more.

I did a quick and dirty experiment with Become A Rockstar ('coz I really liked that game) I hope the creator of that game won't be mad :)

The type of file you will get from the VAM are like these ones (examples made from the Become A Rockstar experiment) :
Those files are ogg files converted afterwards (anything like Audacity will do).

The cool thing is: this will be completely free as a VAM plugin. And has a CC-BY-SA licence. Which means, you only need to credit me/the plugin for non-commercial AND commercial projects.
Obviously, if you're someone like me (supporting people that create good content) you also need to at least support meshedvr on patreon for a month to get a Virt-A-Mate licence.

If you don't know VAM, or don't know VAMMoan (the main plugin handling the moan and sex sounds system), trust me, 8 bucks for big procedural moan library like this, it's almost free :]
(there's also VAMMoan 2 coming up, which will bring even further the quality and possibilities)

I'm still refining the scene and plugins, so it is not yet available. But it's coming very soon.

I had trouble finding a real community around the renpy porn visual novel, so my best bet was here. I hope that if you're a renpy developer... or well, any visual novel developer. You will spread the word, so that we all get some awesome visual novels with arousing SFX.

If you have any question, feel free to ask. Cheers!

Most certainly next week or worst case scenario two weeks.

I'm trying to make a really neat scene, easy to use without knowing VAM in depth.
I also have a big documentation coming with it, explaining the system in depth, sound design tips and tricks to get the best sounds, files formats etc... and this takes time :']

You didn't talk about the licence or price of your tool. What do you have in mind concerning those aspects ?

License is . But the short of it is that you can use it and adapt it in any way you like as long as you credit the creator. Which, in this case, appears to be OP. I'd be quite skeptical of using any of these sounds commercially at this point, though, as there's next to no evidence that OP has created or owns the rights to said audio of the tool. In the worst-case scenario, you end up with a copyright infringement lawsuit (unlikely), the best case is likely a Cease and Desist. I'm not saying OP is stealing or anything like that, to be clear, but that I'd be careful until I see some sort of proof that OP has the right to consider this tool, and thus the audio, CC BY-SA 2.0.

I'm extremely careful about licencing. All the sources are either:
  • CC0 (freesound.org for instance)
  • CC-BY-SA
CC-BY-SA refers to my own assets, since I actually commissioned VA for the highest quality characters available.

Beyond assuming what can or cannot be done with the content, you can read the whole documentation of VAMMoan (which is the plugin used for this tool) .

I kind of understand the point of view... but there is absolutely nothing fishy about this. And contrary to most people in modding/content creation (who either do not understand licenses or simply do not care)... I'm perfectly aware of how the licenses work, and what you can or can't do.

This might sound strange for some people, but this is the case: I'm working on free plugins, that are CC-BY-SA, even commissioning voice actors, and all this is available for free... and I'm not making a dimme nor asking for money. Yes, this still exists :]

You never know theese days I totaly agree with you. One of the main reason is because they're way too much licences and some are specific for each domain (Art / source code etc...). So for a casual artist / developer, it's just to much time to spend reading legal terms (especially if you're not fluent in english...).

But that's nice of you to paid artist and give it for free. It's never a waste of money as you can promote this on your CV if you aspire to work on SFX !

I understand, but a "casual dev / artist" knows that he should not steal food at the grocery store right? How licenses differ from that? I do agree that there are a shit ton of licenses and you need to read a bit to understand... but I think anyone even random people using pictures on Facebook or whatever social media, perfectly know that there are rights applied to art, and that they should respect it.

Half the time, I'm pretty sure it's closer to lazyness OR eventually "yeah nah, I'm not gonna pay for that". I mean, in the 1990's or 2000's you could get away with the usual "Ho sorry I didn't know"... today, there are so much article about copyright / DMCA takedowns, that pretty much anyone knows about licenses... especially casual devs who are using high end software that have pretty expensive licenses.

But that's nice of you to paid artist and give it for free. It's never a waste of money as you can promote this on your CV if you aspire to work on SFX !
Too late for that... been working in game dev for years ;)

Anyway, long story short: this is a legit free plugin, with clean licenses or "personally commissioned" VA recordings. : D

Just bumping up the post and would be interested in checking the tool.

For anyone wondering about licensing, as long as there is CC0 or author-commissioned sound, which the author has all rights to designate CC0 to, you can use it for commercial products.

Now, tracing the sources of all SFX the dev is using that's a different story, but if, let's say, there is a spreadsheet that identifies the origin of all tracks, then there are no issues. The author and us, as users, can do anything with CC0.

Moan Recorder is available, the main post has been updated.
You can read .

For the people asking themselves what Moan Recorder would require:
- A VAM License. At least the teaser key which is 2€ or if you want to support meshedvr for the upcoming VAM2, at best the creator key which is 8€ (which opens the creation process on top of simply playing the scenes).
- Downloading all the free plugins used for Moan Recorder
- And finally, enjoying creating your custom moans for your projects.

PS: VAM's key can be a one time fee for VAM's current version. It is not required to support the patreon forever to have a functional version of VAM.
