Well, it's what patrons pay, not what you'll actually get. Patreon take 8%, but before this there's the payment processing normally around 5%, and obviously after this there's taxes, let's say 15%. So, US$ 743 in the end.
And, since I'm at this, depending on the country you live in, there's more to care about.
What you earn from your game is not a salary, what mean that you've to pay for a health insurance, put money aside for your retirement, and all the things that usually come with a salary.
Years ago I did the math, and if you live in West Europe, North America and globally what can be seen as an advanced country, below US$ 5,000/month you can't live out of it. Not because of the additional costs, but because it's an activity limited in time.
Will come a time when you'll not have more idea for a new game, and that day you'll stop earning money. But finding a job with a X years gap in your resume will be hard, and when you'll find it, it will not pay as much. US$ 5,000/month, over ten years, was the limits I found at this time for a 30yo to have a decent life will putting enough aside in order to keep this level of life until his death.
After, there's countries where US$ 1,000/month put you in the top 10%. But, for OP, no, moving in such country because you would be rich while living there, is
not a smart idea.
To be fair, I learned Spanish as third language, never really had good grades in it, and never ever used it since I leaved high school more than 30 years ago
