I expected something normal like, adding a thread to your profile's notify list, that doesn't exist, or an RSS feed, no one could explain that, so I went: "You know what? fuck it, I will obtain my notifications one way or another and you cannot stop me." and I wrote a CLI web scraper to open pages in HTML and see the version diff.
