You have to go jogging at the lake on a Thursday (or some variable which is set to a random number must be 3), AND you MUST win the rock-paper-scissors game. The next time Roger asks you about your day you will get to tell him about the beach. Go Nord - Nord - West - Nord - East to get to the beach you want. I believe this is also what opens up the further photo shoot option.
