I'm trying to find this game where you play as this guy who had such a rough time growing up that as soon as he was able, he left left his family. Years later he ends up taking a promotion that causes him to have to move back to his hometown.
The day he arrives, his motel room becomes unavailable to him and there isn't anywhere else he can stay. After that he ends up running into his (step?)mom who seems really apologetic about how she treated him, and she offers to let him come back home.
When he gets back home, he sees his sister again who was kind of broken by his sudden departure and now barely talks, has to go to therapy, etc. In addition to this, his mom has to take medication (I forget what for exactly) and it leaves her in a highly suggestible state with no memory of what happened after it wears off.
I think the sister's name was Ellie or something like that. She was a redhead with freckles and green eyes and I don't remember what the mom looks like.
