Is there any Ren'Py Witch Trainer styled games that were made by Japanese studios or is such format not very popular with them?

You're lucky to get any Japanese trainer games in English, and R'P doesn't seem popular with them. Looking at Latest Updates, of the 66 pages of Japanese games, 2 are R'P. A grand total of 1 of those games has the "trainer" tag. But here is the complete list, including non-R'P. Also, I think it's unlikely many Japanese devs have heard of Witch Trainer, they probably all do their own thing with a whole lot more rape.
